Hi guys,
The Srilankan team have won the series. They defeated the INDIAN team by seventy four runs. The Indian batting was so poor to withstand the Srilankan team bowling.Only M.S.DHONI played superb and gave his captain's knock .Shewag and Yuvraj played well but unfortunately they were out.The youngsters failed miserably including Raina.Dhoni was left alone without any batsmen so he was unable to reach the target. If the Srilankan umpire had not given any wrong decisions in the INDIA VS SRILANKA last group match ,there would have been chances for the Indian team to win and Srilanka would have been out of the finals.
Friends,do you think Srilanka really deserved the Trophy???

I think if we follow Sri Lanka over the past 4 years in the ODI arena, they are amongst the most consistent. Especially in big tournaments. They are regulars in the semis and also featured in the last world cup finals. They won the last Asia Cup and made the finals of this one. So if you see that way I think of the Asian countries they are the best prepared for the ODI world cup at this moment and I think on the whole they deserved to win this world cup.
Cheers!

I agree with you Ram_cv, Sri Lanka is no more a minnow in cricket like Bangladesh or some other teams. They are playing consistently, not like Indian team no consistency at all.
Well sami, don't you think India is too much dependent on Sachin and Sehwag. Show me one tournament recently where India played superbly without Sehwag and Sachin. There are not much to show. So, Sri Lanka is not that small team or not without skills. We always over hype Indian team, that is the problem.

Hi,
Yes,it is true that Srilanka is one of the top teams from Asia. They have proved they are better than India.Srilanka's form for last few years have been excellent. The new youngsters are performing very well in the Srilankan team. They are learning and getting experiences from the senior players. This proves that they are better than Indian team because no youngsters in the Indian team are performing constantly like the youngsters in the Srilankan team. The Indian team needs to overtake the Srilankan team. They are always dependent on four or five players. But in case of Srilankan they always play as a team. From your view,I can understand that Srilanka truly deserve this cup.
Thanks for your comment my friend.

Well my dear friend sami, we cannot blame Sri Lanka for the poor performance they have showed in the finals. That past match where umpiring decisions was an history and we should not keep talking about that incident always, ok umpires have faulted but in the finals, Sri Lanka was clean. It was India which played poorly, I feel there is a matter of worry in the opening slot and then from number 2 to 4 places. Raina, Karthik, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kholi were failures in this series. So, team management as seriously should have thought about Robin Uttappa and some players like Saurav Tiwary, Tyagi, Jakarti and Manish Pandey. They were promising but why team management has lot of faith on failure cases like Karthik, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. This series was sorry case to these batsmen and Dhoni could not score briskly when praveen kumar arrived. Lot was expected from tail enders. The target was stiff one and India has to address lot of issues in not only bowling but even in batting as well. Apart from Sehwag no other Indian batsmen able to score century in the series. Finally, I feel Sri Lanka deserve the MicroMax Cup, they were better team on that particular day and they were comfortable in beating India and New Zealand in league phase.

Hi,
There was a chance for the Indian team to win in their last group match against Srilanka. The Umpires gave some wrong decisions.Shewag and Yuvraj were playing superb. But due to unfair decisions they were dismissed by the Srilankan bowlers. In that situation Srilanka might have lost that match. So it was a great escape for the Srilankan team.Regarding the unfair decisions ICC has not taken any actions on the umpires until now.In the final performance Srilanka gave their best.It was an excellent and clean performance from the Srilankan team.Dilshan scored a century which was an excellent innings from the opening batsman.Sangakkara played a great innings which supported the team to reach a target of 299 runs. The bowling of the Indian team was not good in the beginning. The batting too failed for the Indian team.Hope the Batting improves in the upcoming series.

winning is depends upon on our strong will and confidence also.
They have(srilankans) have confidence so they won the trophy.
We(indian cricketers) have over confidence so we lost.......

Hi,
The Srilankan team have lots of confidence and talents in their team.Their young players are performing in the absence of senior players. This is the secret of Srilankan team. The Indian team have lots of confidence but we call it as over confidence.Confidence should boost the performance of a player. If over confidence means, then the player has to give its best. They really deserved the trophy in the final match due to their excellent performance. The batting was superb.Dilshan had scored a magnificent century while he got the support from his captain Sangakkra. The bowling of the Srilankan was also excellent. Our players failed to give their best. The bowling department failed to get early wickets. The batting didn't get a good start and also didn't finish well.Winning would always depend on the performance of the whole team not only on one or two players. These are the main reasons for the defeat of Indian team.Hope our team recovers

this is the thing that always happening with the great Indian team always....... i don't think they hold the title not because of their merit...... i think it is because of India's demerit..... they were not well in the final....

Hi,
The Indian team don't play as a team often. They normally depend only on four or five players. If those players don't perform then the other players will think that they also cannot perform on that situation. So this is one of the demerit of the Indian team.Absence of senior players have also caused a great effect on the Indian team. The young players have not given their best in this series. These things have also affected the performance of The Indian team. But the Srilankan team is totally different from Indian team. They always play as a team. They play with a spirit. The players have been performing well in last couple of matches especially the young players. They don't depend on few players. If one player fails, the other tries to succeed him.So these are some of the qualities of the Indian team.Hope the Indian team improves in the future.
Thanks for your comment.

I would say No, they do not deserve the Micromax Cup. They would be out of this final in the last match itself, remember their umpiring in the last match. Four wrong decisions are not something which any one can easily forget. Srilanka was out of this tournament at that point itself, beating New Zealand in finals was an easy task for India.
In finals, luck did not favor India, Sehwag was run out.
There are two things responsible for Indian defeat in the finals.
1. Wrong players selected in the team.
2. Full Cheating by SriLanka team.
I do not get the point of including Rohit Sharma, he is not able to play. He is so lazy while playing for India team, that shows his dedication towards his country and the team. If selectors are looking for experience they should call Dravid, if they are looking for young players who can perform well, they should give a chance to Saurabh Tiwari. Indian team is blindly giving chances to these useless players and as a result of that, we got the result yesterday.
Dhoni, Sehwag and Yuvraj are players who have always performed for India. Let us give them a chance, afterall they are also human being, but what about these young players (Kohli and Sharma), they have never performed well and now they behave on the cricket field as if they are Sachin Tendulkar.
The only good thing happened to our country in this tournament was, the team management realized that they should kick out Jadeja. I hope, Dhoni will not let him come to the side and Tiwari and Ashwin will get their well deserved chances.
Just for a thought, do you think if Irfan pathan would be in the team, he would have given more than 72 runs in his 10 overs?

Hi,
Most of the people say that Srilankan team don't deserve to be in the final. They escaped in the last league match due to wrong umpiring.Four wrong decisions were enough to dismiss the strong batsmen of the Indian team. The Indian team was unlucky in that match due to wrong decisions.Shewag and Yuvraj were out due to wrong LBW decision from the Umpires. The Srilankan players know that it was not out but they still continued appealing. This effort made the umpires think that it was out so he declared his decision from the appealing of players. So these types of umpires should be banned according to my point of view. The ICC should check and warn these types of umpires.Due these decisions,Srilanka got into the final easily. There is also fault in the selection of the Indian team. The youngsters seems to be not caring about their place in WORLD CUP squad .Rohit,Jadeja and Kohli have not performed a single excellent innings so far they have played in the series.I also felt sad for Saurabh Tiwary who was eagerly waiting fora chance in the team.I think it is time to give chances for other young players instead of some wastes.Ashwin is also another player waiting for a chance in Indian team.Dhoni should give chances to other players instead of those wastes. But he has no options, when most of the senior players are absent in the team.So he has to go for the experienced players.
I think Irfan Pathan could make a comeback if he improves himself.I agree he used to give lots of runs in his allotted ten overs. If players like him who have been out of form get chances they might prove themselves worthy. So the selection should make some changes in the team for the next series.
I am appreciating you for your detailed response in my discussion.Very good effort my friend. This is the way we need to give our responses. Thanks for your comments

A game is a game and on the given day when one of the teams perform well they deserve to be winner be it a league game or the finals. This instance, Sri Lankans were far superior in every aspect of the game and India stood exposed by way of lack of quality bowling and over-dependence on one or two batsmen. It is time to introspect and not to brood over the loss

Hi,
There is always a winner and a loser in a game. The winner used to be happy but the loser team might learn their mistakes and try to correct them in their next match.Winning and Losing is part of a game. The game would be interested if only both teams play well.Another thing is each team should play with full spirit. The team plays with spirit have more chances of winning the game.I think the spirit is missing in Indian team.At early stages when Dhoni took over his captaincy there was some spirit in the team.Because of that spirit they won the T20 world cup.The spirit is missing in the current Indian team.Hope the Indian team comes up with a spirit.
Thanks for your comment my friend.

well to make it simple, srilanka is the only team that went into this tournament with its full team.neither india nor kiwis had their ful strength so its only straight that srilanka wins this series.as for umpire howlers, umpires should be warned so is the lankan team for extended appealing

Hi,
Yes,The Srilankan team went throughout the series with some strong players. There was o changes in the presence of strong players which was a key advantage for them. The Srilankan team gave its best on the finals against India. The Indian team were struggling to find some quality batsmen.Their batting was the main defect for their poor show.I think it is time for senior players to get back in the team and youngsters should be kicked off from the team. The senior players were given a long break but now it is time for young players to take some rest.Hope the Srilankan team continue their form and The Indian team will improve.

Ofcourse Srilanka deserved it.Indian teams perfomance was humiliating and Dhoni's captaincy is all blunder. It looks like we have to depend on Sachin always.

yes of course...they came with a good game plan...they batted well..they have piled a huge score...they fell india in under pressure..they bowled well too...they restrict india to take singles...and fielded well to block some boundaries also..they took wickets in right time intervals...we should appreciate their seem bowlers and appreciate the way they bowled, full and stright...and finally they got the result what they deserves...

Hi,
The Srilankan team had a good game plan which lead them to the path of victory. The Indian bowlers failed to get an early break through which cost them very much. They definitely bowled well to restrict the Indian team.Their bowling have been very intelligent and excellent through out the innings. There are so many lessons in which the Indian team needs to learn. The Indian team is seriously missing some experienced players .Due to their absence the Indian team were struggling in their batting.Totally a great performance from the Srilankan team .So they really deserved this cup but they should not repeat some bad sportsman ship .Hope the Indian team recovers.

Hi,
Yes,at the end of the day the fact is Srilanka are the winners. The all round performance from the Srilankan team have lead to victory.Their batting began with a solid start. The Indian bowlers failed to get a break through in the early innings. That cost them very much .Dilshan played a wonderful innings and he got the support from his captain Sangakkara. The bowling of the Indian team got wickets very late towards the end of the innings. The batting of the Indian team was easily dismissed by the Srilankan bowlers. The batsmen got a start but failed to play till the end.M.S.Dhoni played his wonderful knock which helped the team to reach a decent score.Hope the Indian team learns their mistakes and tries not to repeat it again.

Yes SL deserved to win after their performance in the league phase...they played well..their batsmen, their bowlers...all did a good job and surely they deserved to win the final...on the other hand India were lacking...their poor start...both in the bowling and batting did not do any favor to the Indian team...for once yes India had to loose rather then SL to win...

Hi,
Their performance was superb in the finals against India. The whole team contributed to the win.Their was a great plan from the Srilankan team and they executed it well.Their excellent performance have earned them this cup.The Indian team was not showing some good performances due to the absence of senior players.Their absence is a great concern for the Indian team. This made the impact on the Batting and Bowling. The Srilankan batting could have been dismissed if the bowlers had taken early wickets. The huge score was impossible for The Indian team to chase due to the absence of senior players.Hope India strike back.

Yes! Of course,
The thing impressed me, that They all were Unity. And that's the reason to their Victory. They all played extremely well. The 110 runs by Dilshan put them on the way of Victory and in the End, Bowling was awesome. All bowlers bold pretty well to brought victory towards them.
Apart from this it was an another Unlucky day for struggling Indians. It's only to say an Unlucky day, but the fact was that they didn't deserve the Cup.
and another fact is that Indians has never Unity and of course it is concern for India so far.
I thinks Indians have to concentrate on their consistency of Good form's, then and then only India will deserve some of the Championships/Cup's...though the are no.2/3 in world ranking. otherwise they have to forget about, Cricket is a game that has been played by them. lol
Thanks!:-0

Hi,
Unity is strength .Their unity is also an another success of the Srilankan team. They have been playing as a team and working all the plans according to a bowler. The batting led by Dilshan was superb and their bowling restricted the Indian team.Very poor bowling show from the Indian bowlers as they failed take early wickets. The batting was not steady to face the Srilankan bowling. The batting was not good. The players got a start but failed to stand and build some partnerships.I think absence of senior players have caused a great effect on the Indian team.Hope they come back stronger in their next series.
