Should there be a limit how many discussions you can post on myLot per day?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there a limit how many discussions one can post per day? If there is a limit, should it be lowered/raised?
I know several mylotters here who start 10+ discussions a day. In many cases it's one straight after another.
I'm not complaining, I've got plenty of friends and my discussions gets through to a large crowd nontheless, but for newbies, their discussions gets plunked to the bottom, never to be seen or heard of.
Thanks for your responce!

There is no limit as to how many daily you can post. Of course as long as they do not go against the content you are fine.
As for should they be limited no they should not as with any gatherings and new people arrive, the new people work they way in to building meaningful discussions with absolute strangers so the same applies here. So my suggestion to all new members it is okay to start a new discussion but do not sit and wait for responses in the interim mingle and put out some responses so that members begin to see their profile which will prompt members to place replies.
I myself do not start more than one at at time as I am one of those members that replies to all who responds, so starting 10+ in one day would be way too much for me, but bless all who do.

Well you have asked a genuine question indeed. As soon as I looked this thread by you I was instantly tempted to check it out. there are peoples like you who are really up to something useful and informative and I like that.
however I am not in position to answer your question with confidence and surety but as afar as I have seen myself its never seemed to me that mylot is putting a ceiling on the number of posts you can write here.
But dear just beware I have leaned that if your post is not according to their guidelines you might be getting frustrated by e-mails that would inform you that a post by you has been terminated.
So kindly follow their guidelines and try to post something useful and interesting.
I am a newcomer here so only that is what I can tell you right now.
just follow some advices by good writes in various posts her in mylot to be informed on various issues. I am also doing the same.
thanks

Yes, I'm always a little worried before posting discussions...
..."What if it's not appropriate?" "Is it offensive?" "Is it going to get deleted my myLot"
Luckily I haven't had the email "Your discussion has been deleted" slam into my email box
Thanks for your thoughts, and welcome to myLot!

hi diamond there is no limit on how many dicussions you can post in
one day but I feel there should be as one or two people make them every five minutes and some of them end up being deleted as being of no
substance. I have no problems with my own discussions because I do not make many in one day as I want them to be of some substance to start with.

I kind of wish there were a limit.. I only post one -maybe two at a time. I always make sure to respond to all that respond to me, and what with answering others discussions. That makes one busy enough... I don't think anyone who makes that many discussions in one day can answer or even plans to answer their responders. So I don't see the point in their starting so many discussions.
I personally just removed someone last week from my friends list because they started like 20 discussions a day. I gave them A shot- I responded to a few of the discussions- I never got one reply back....DELETE. I really don't need them on my friends list -if all the work for a "discussion" is going to be on my part.

I'm not too flash on earning through starting discussions. Do you earn a cent once you've started and commented on at least one of the responces?

@mykl I think that is the case too- However the person whim I deleted last week...I even commented on a discussion to make them aware of how they earned.. It did no good, not only did they still not respond back -even to ask more questions.. they probably never read what I wrote- because they are still going on about making 20 discussions a day. LOL
I guess we can only do so much to help.
@T_Diamond. There is no set amount for what we make starting a discussion. But you are paid for what you type. If you are just typing one or 2 lines whether in starting your discussion or responding.. don't expect to be earning much.
Personally I prefer to comment back to all my responders- that is how a "discussion" gets started. But of course as with everything there are always exceptions to the rule.. Some responses just don't make sense - I don't reply to gibberish. And at some point a response seems to just be a statement that doesn't seem like it requires an answer or I don't see a way in carrying a discussion any further by commenting to them.
Just remember you are paid for what you type- not by anything someone else types. So you may have 30 responses to a discussion you started.. if you do not repl to them.. you aren't going to earn much from that "discussion" until you start "talking".

Thx for that Minx, I simply don't have time to respond to all comments - hense I write something along the lines of "Thank you for your thoughts!" under each discussion lol!
For me, a discussion usually starts when I reply to comment, they reply back and kinda what we're doing here right now?

I think that as long as the discussions aren't just random spam and similar, it's ok.

Hi T Diamond,
I know there are some that start one meaningless discussion after another and that can get a little annoying or a lot annoying. Still there are others that start several really great discussions in a day and thank goodness for those people. Me? I will think of a good discussion while driving in my car but by the time I get back home, it is lost on me. I should carry a notebook around and sometimes I do but most of the time I forget or worse....think that I will surely remember so why bother writing it down. So anyway, NO, I don't think there should be a limit. As it is, mylot watches for and deletes discussions that go against guidelines such as poll type ones or one-liners etc. As for newbies discussions getting plunked to the bottom, it really has everything and nothing to do with the fact that they are new. It's just that it takes being here a while to get to know what is and is not a discussion that will attract others....at least for most. Some hop on here and just do one great discussion after another. I will say that most of my first discussions plunked to the bottom pretty quickly.

Awesome, thanks so much for your thoughts Sid, and a big thanks for writing it in paragraphs.
I always like when people put a lot of thought into their answers, but when it's in one huge word blob...uh oh

I think they must. especially newbies.
If you have less than 100 post you can post this much and so on.
I think this is the best way to groom newbies. As many spammers are usually newbies.
I think the rank star must be the bases on how many post and thread you can make every day.

Well I think that when people start responses it's because they need questions to be answered I don't think that it is a bad idea because they are just expressing each other and all that. Like me I use to start a lot of discussions a day, but that's because I had a lot of questions that would come up during my day and well now I don't really start a lot of discussions how I used too because I guess I don't really have no more questions to ask I think that my brain has gone completely blank.
Still things sometimes do go across my head so that's when I start to ask questions again I love to ask questions and to get responses, although I don't always respond back to some people's comments because I sometimes don't have enough time. I still do read them, but I just don't respond back like I used too because my brain gets overloaded and you know my brain can't take so much. Anyway I love discussions and I don't think that their should be a limit as to how much someone could post a day because you know people want to ask a lot of questions even though it is true what you said about how the newbies discussions go to the bottom, but some are actually very good at getting people to respond to their discussions because they really are interesting and that's what I like to see in discussions when they are interesting because then I will want to post on there.

Yay, my discussion is interesting!
I share the same views as you, Anime. I don't mind (to an extent ) how many discussions one posts, as long as they take the time to reply back to some comments, and the discussion is somewhat original and interesting.
...Don't know how many times my eyes have sped by "Is the world going to end in 2012" discussions...

That could be a good idea. If pursue, there's going to be an order to everything and a chance to everyone. Sometimes after reading and responding to the discussions it seems that everything that you want to open were already discussed.
Yet somehow , no limitations in starting a discussion would be great to everybody especially to those who are good.

Hi Diamond,
I think the current system works fine. Anyone can start any number of discussions but whether he gets a response, that's another matter. If you are concerned about somebody flooding mylot with lots of not-so-meaningful topics, just choose to ignore them
It's quite normal for newbies to post topics that do not get much attention, because firstly, they might not have mastered the technique of posting good topics and secondly, they do not have many friends and thus their chances of getting responses are reduced. We have all experienced that and once they got past that stage, it will be smooth sailing.

I think new people have got to start somewhere and if they are good thoughtful discussions, I am all in favor.
The only thing I would caution about is if they really are interested in discussions, it gets hard to answer back to so many discussions all at one time. Other than that I think it is okay that it is not limited.

I don't think there should be a limit. If the discussions are pointless, then that's kind of annoying. But if they are good discussions, and they comment on all the responses in the discussion, then I see no problem.
It's the people who go and start a bunch of one line discussions then never go back to them that annoy me.

Hi Velvet, welcome to myLot!
When starting discussions, try to avoid the word "money" in your responces - I find most discussions with this word gets deleted fairly quickly
Remember to post something that hasn't been posted yet, something original - we've all heard about 2012...

True, there is no present limit, and I do not believe there should be a limit. I would like to submit a proposal about the minimum length limit per started post, to a medium size paragraph minimum, say 200 words or so, or maybe more. That way we don't get the silly one-liner or other mundane discussions that does nothing but wastes everyone's time.

I don't think there's a limit but I understand what you're getting at. Sometimes it does feel as if one is being bombarded with them. Hmmm... maybe this should be the topic of Prof. Mykl's next explanatory lecture...

According to Pareto Principle, 20% users commit 80% discussions.
It's unfair to set a limitation on the number of discussions one post per day.

i don't think there should be a limit for that. if there will be a limit then you won't be able to post responses a lot and then you will not earn your potential income. i think, my lot is the best site ever because it allows you to earn income of something that you do daily and it helps you a lot. i myself don't post discussions much, but i do like to post responses to many discussions, if there were less discussions it would be difficult for me to earn money. so, i think there must not be any limit for how many discussions you can post on my lot per day.

I have no problem with people posting a lot of discussions, to be honest, as long as they are of high quality. So I hope there is no limit for those that write good content. But I have to admit I am not really sure...

I don't think there is a limitation as to how many discussions you can start per day.., and I don't see any reason for such.., I when it's unlimited this way.., we are given the chance to make discussions as many as we can and raise the chances for earning.., for newbies like us.., i think the best way to prevent our started topics to be plunked at the bottom is to make sure that we are starting a discussion about a topic that will interest a lot of mylotters..., once they started commenting.., your discussion will stay up./.=)
