In English test cricket condition...with the ball doing a lot of things...everyone expected that it's a fast bowlers paradise...that they would get the ball to do things...movement, inswingers, outswingers...and indeed that happened looking at the collapses in the batting by both the sides...the fast bowlers were on song and thought to be the leading wicket takers in the series...it is headed by Anderson but...surprise surprise the 2nd highest wicket taker is Swann!!! wow an offie in the mix of things...creditable in seaming english condition..

swann is a very good bowler no doubt but he still has to prove himself against the higher ranked teams in their own backyard and the way pakistan are playing these days and all the match fixing allegations against them even bangladeshi bowlers would fancy their chances against them

I think Swann has been one of the most consistent spinners this season. In fact, I think he has stolen a march on the likes of Harbhajan and Mendis. That is why it was surprise not to see his name in the ICC list of nominees this year. ICC has gone ahead and corrected that anamoly. I think he is definitely one of the most cleverest spinners in operation since the retirement of Shane Warne. If the pitch offers a bit of spin he comes into his own. Cheers! Ram
