Dravid has been and is an excellent cricketer...but has been sidelined...why??? because of his lack of good strike rate??? he has a fantastic average of 39+, has been instrumental in many victories...since he resigned from ODI captaincy, he lost his place in the ODI...probably due to age...but he is still a very good batsman in ODI too as compared to few youngster...still worth considering in India's scheme of things for winning the WC for India.... Whats your opinion....

Dravid was one of the best batters in the world. I remember watching VVS and Dravid batting in a test match against Australia and they batted for over a day. Yes Australia didn't get a wicket in over 90 overs against them and they scored 330 runs together. Dravid nearly scored 200 himself. Every batsmen or bowler for that matter go through form slumps. Dravid is a great player and he can score a few runs against the lesser nations in the world cup and find some form and beat the Aussies again. Fingers crossed. He is very enjoyable to watch next to Tendulkar hes my favorite batsmen.

In india, politics and lobbying is much more important than your performance or any other thing. Had Tendulkar not been what he is today, even he would have been facing this by now. As for Dravid, he has been a silent killer and many of his records are not even known to the common public. He does need to be at the World Cup XI for India in case India has to win... But Dhoni has other plans and I am sure that the plans would not have any Dravid anywhere on his team no matter how badly India needs a player of his class.

I don't think bringing in Dravid would be a good idea. There are many talented cricketers, but they need to be well prepared. Don't just think of the recently concluded Micromax cup in Sri Lanka and come to a conclusion that Indian batsmen are not good. With the likes of Sachin, Ghambir returning to the squad, the batting lineup would be strong. Coming to No.7 position, India should try Irfan Pathan and R Ashwin before the World Cup.

i would say no. because after keeping him away for long time now calling back dont seems good. and there is not a big problem in indian batting if gautam gambir and sachin comes back. and dravid is also going with some out of form performance in the test, so it will not be a good choice. but we should have given a chance to saurabh tiwary in the last series.

I do not think we should consider Dravid for the world cup. For starters, it would be a step back for India. Also I do not think Dravid will have in him to be physically ready for the ODI demands. I mean he is a great professional and will give his 100% but his body might not be able to provide that cutting edge that is required on the field. Also remember the World Cup is in India, so there are only going to be flat tracks and not any demanding tracks where we need the expertise of Dravid. Cheers! Ram

and my opinion is NO...dravid is the class player..and my favorite too..but lots of youngsters are waiting for their turn to make their debut..yes senior players are key for every major tournaments always..i hope sachin would retire from his career after the world cup...so after the world cup india should face that reality...we have to set a complete team for world cup..for that indian cricket board should try some young players before world cup like tiwari,uthappa..for the team future...i think sachin should be considerable..i hope dravid wouldnt get space in world cup squad...

He was sidelined because many youngsters were performing well in India A side also in domestic cricket and for the sake of giving youngsters a chance he was shown the way out in one day internationals .But now when Yuvraj is struggling with his form and fitness and youngsters not performing well when needed, i think thinking about Dravid for world cup team is not a bad idea at all.I think instead of Jadeja we should play an extra batsman and it can be Dravid, he can bat at number 4 and provide stability to batting order.

I would say, Yes. He should be considered. Not only Dravid, but they should also consider Irfan pathan. At this point of time, Indian team is looking for 2 middle order batsmen and an allrounder. Dravid is much better than Kohli, Karthik and Sharma (I do not think if he should be compared with these children). Strange policy of the Indian team management, they are not considering him for ODI team. I was thinking they are looking for young talent who can perfom well, okay... if that is the case, why did not they give any chance to Ashwin and Tiwari?? Sharma, Kohli, Karthik and Jadeja will always fail to perform but they are being given chances every time. That does not make sense. We can easily include Dravid, Tiwari and Irfan in place of these players. We will have a mix of experience and new talent. Does any one has any doubt that Irfan is a better player than Jadeja?
