Oat meal is one of my favorite and easy breakfast options.Sometimes I buy oats with fried fruits and nuts in it. I also buy the normal oat meal and have it with blueberry or banana in it. It is really yummy. I just had oat meal for breakfast today.

I know eating oatmeal is a healthy diet. But I'd rather eat fruits for breakfast than eating an oatmeal simply because I don't like how it taste. I tried eating oatmeal with nuts and banana on it but still it doesn't taste good for me. I hope someday I can find ways on how to enjoy eating oatmeal specially for breakfast.

Oats with honey really sounds intersting. I will try it out sometime. I like honey and it tastes good with coffee sometimes. I like honey in my sweet noodles too. So, I am sure oats with honey is going to come out pretty good. Thank you very much for sharing the idea with me and other mylotters. Have a good week ahead.

Hi daliaj, I would have oats as breakfast at times between only. When I feel fed up with the foods I eat. Most of the foods taken for breakfast daily are salty. I then would take oat porridge to have a totally different savor. Banana is the easy to acquire and economical local fruit here and it's one of my favorite fruits as well. I usually would have my bowl of oat with some banana slices and raisin added to it
Happy posting

I love oats for breakfast. Actually, when I read your discussion, I suddenly realized I haven't had oats for breakfast for a very long time. But I used to have oats for breakfast everyday. I don't like the normal oats because it's not sweet. I usually buy oats with red dates in it. It tastes really yummy. I need to buy some this weekend.

This is new to me. I have never seen oats with red dates in it. We usually have oats with dried strawberry, blueberry, and other nuts in it. But, I can buy normal oats and add some dates to it. It sounds yummy. I also don't like plain oats that is salty. I usually add a few sugar cubes to it to make it sweet. One of the person who responded above suggested to add honey. I am yet to try it out.

Yes, I'll make sure to have oats for my breakfast, for the purpose of healthy eating. I believe that oats lower cholesterol level, so it is badly needed around here for I have a diabetic parent, and just being protective as well.
I also love adding fruits for flavoring and love ripe mangoe for it. I also love to make patties out of oats. Healthy, right?

Yes, it is a healthy food. Mangoes and oats sound really good. But, mangoes are very expensive in my place. A medium quality mangoe will be one dollar. So, we buy mangoes mostly when there is a sale. My husband and I like mangoes a lot, but we never thought of adding it to oats. Thank you. We will try it some time. I like to add three sugar cubes to my normal oat meal.

Oatmeal with choclate drink sound yummy. Do you mean by adding choclate drink in oatmeal to add a flavor? I never tried it. One of the person who responded above also mentioned about the combination of oats and choclate. Please try not to skip breakfast. It is not advisible to skip breakfast. If you are not hungry in the morning, just have something small.

Hi Daliaj,
I consume oat meal together with hot chocolate for most of my breakfast. The taste is not as good as other foods, but it definitely healthy and help for digestion. I do not try to add in fruits or other ingredients in the oat, I found it strange it i practice in such a way.

I have a hard time eating anything for breakfast which I hate because after having two children I've struggled with my weight. This post caught my eye because the last time I went grocery shopping I bought a can of oats thinking it would be an easy breakfast I could make myself eat in the morning to get my metabolism jump started. They've been in the pantry for 5 days now and still sit unopened! I don't understand why I have such a hard time forceing myself to eat in the mornings. The last thing I want to do in the morning when I wake up is eat. And then I get caught up with the kids and the runnings of the house and it's usually 3pm before I remember to eat something. I know these are horrible habits but they are so hard to break... is anyone else like me or am I on my own with this one!?! lol

Oats is a very good meal if you are looking for something healty and with very little fat. It is not healty to skip breakfast. You don't have to force yourself to eat breakfast. Once you wake up wait till you complete your work, settle the things of children, and wait till you become hungry. It is not advisible to skip breakfast.
You can try oat meal with different fruits of your choice. I love them with bananas or blurberries. I am yet to try mangoes with oats. The first perso who responded to t his discussion said that oats tastes very good with mangoes. I am excited to try it out. All the best for you to have healthy breakfast. Hope you will oepn the oats soon.

Are you trying to say that you have two breakfasts everyday? That is intersting. I usually have a small breakfast, but because of that I will be hungry early for lunch and I take my lunch early. I have a small cup of coffee everday and so does my husband. I have bread too sometimes, but in the form of toast. I love to have my toast with strawberry jam.

For a few weeks in my life, I've had oat meal for breakfast every day. I was never a big fan of oat meal, and was only eating it because it was healthy. I prefer to eat something more filling in the morning, because I don't like getting hungry too quickly. Oat meal tends to leave you feeling empty on the inside. It also tends to get hard to swallow after eating half a bowl. I usually put milk and dried cranberries or raisins in my oat meal.
