i don't know if you'll believe this but when my eyes starts itching like crazy, what i use to clean them is baby shampoo. :) i'm not sure about the connection between your asthma and your eyes though... try it, it might help you. :)

just wash your face like you're using water. the shampoo won't sting your eyes cause it's for babies. :)

It sounds like a classic case of allergies! Which can be a trigger for asthma too! I try benadryl. It makes me really sleepy for a long time, but it seems to work if you can stand the sleepiness. But some people it makes hyper...but it seems to work. You could also try claritin or zyrtex.

I get itchy eyes all the time. There a part of your eyes where tears comes out from those small holes. A hole would be blocked and causing me to feel itchy. The next day, it would turn redish and a little swollen. You should go see a doctor if it happens. It's nothing serious though but the feeling is annoying. Your doctor should prescribe you an ointment to apply in your eyelids. The infection should be gone in a few days. I recently made a homemade gel to grow my lash longer. There was a time when that infection was there again but right after i put the gel for my lashes, it touched the part of the infection and it felt better. A few hours later, the swollen was smaller. I mixed petroleum jelly from vaseline, almond oil, aloe vera gel, and castor oil. Here is the tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPQBk5cA_pM But I still suggest that you go meet a doctor. It might be caused by something else.
