Would you tell your child that he/she was made with the help of technology?

I know my question seems to be a little awkward. When my friend was 34, she wanted to have a baby but her husband didn't want to so they got a divorce. She tried to find a nice guy around but it's kind of difficult because she didn't find someone who is comitted or serious so she gave up on having a family. But deep in her heart, she wants a baby. Now she is 37 and she is single but doesn't want the pressure of finding someone or just grab a man on a rush. So I suggested to her that maybe she can go to a hospital and conceive a child artificially. technology has improved and they can make her pregnant. But what about when the baby grows up and asks where is daddy? How can she sort this out?

She also wants to have it naturally but her time to conceive a baby is running out. You can still have a baby at the age of 40 but the risk for the child down syndrome or something similar is high. thank you for your comments.

Well, first off, there is the possiblitity that by the time baby is older, there will be a man in your friend's life that would be Daddy to the child. In that case, the answer is easy, they could explain to the baby that any man can be a father, but it takes a really special person to be a Dad. Otherwise, I would just explain that I'd always wanted to be a mother and because of that I decided that I would raise my child by myself.

Hey friend’s nice discussions you have started. I think if any situation are comes in my life which need for me to having a child and if it help me to give me a child then I want to tell my child that he/she was the gift by technology. But I think this situation very rarely comes in any person's life.

Indeed! it's not a situation that happens often. The cousin of my best friend was also made by technology but her parents are together so they didn't have a problem. The father had a problem with body part so the mother got pregnant artificially. I think they didn't tell her anything till now. Anyway, just to be alive is enough to be in grattitude to our parents. My friend is still reconsidering. Thank you for responding.
