I get that a lot from people at the stable where I continue to work! I will get a new horse someday but right now I am not ready! Horses are expensive and the way the economy is (and it might become worse again before it gets better) I can't afford one at this time! I still need to finish paying off late horse Major's vet bill, and a few other bills. When they are paid off then I will look into it! Right now I don't even know what is going on with my stable job! Right now I know I still will be working out there but my feedings will be cut back! The stable owner has talked to me she needs to do some feedings so she can save up for hay next summer! If she could find a job then this would be no problem! It would also would be no problem if her jerkface husband could find a job besides running the restaurant he owns! So After Labor Day I will find out how many feedings I have to give up! That means less gets paid on the bills I have been paying on and it will take alittle longer to pay off! It might be awhile longer then planned before I get a horse! Hey that is life!

Yes replacing a horse is a big investment! I know that from owning Major as long as I did! It will be longer to get me to be a horse owner again but I have no problem with that!

Unfortunately I don't have a horse at this time. I help a friend out with his so I get to ride when I want to. I won't buy my own until I know that I will be able to take care of it properly with food, good stable to be at, things like that. Wish me luck that it will all change.

It will be a few more years before I am able to own another horse. My last horse,Major, was 31 when I had to put him down and I had him since he was 4! When the time comes I probaly will start off with a lease. Then adopting a horse or something like that! I hope you are able to get a horse soon! Good luck to you!

Horses are expensive! The purchase price is the cheapest part of owning a horse. Taking care of a horse properly gets expensive. With the present economy I see alot of people just giving horses away - even good well bred registered horses. I hope you didn't get cut back too much on your job. I'm sure when the time is right - you will get another horse.

My job has been cut back. I was doing feedings 7 days in arow to 4 a week. I can't do anything about it! Since july, 5 horses have left! Three left because the arena was too small since we got all that hay is this summer, for riding! THe other 2 were owned by the woman who had the mare who would not stay pregnant! She complained about everything! Then she went on Facebook(she is on my friends list)as bashed the stable, for no good reason! I was glad to see her go! In a few weeks we will be getting in a Connemara mare. Hopfully there will be more in the future!
