Why do you play cover songs?

I some what agree with you're comment. I do agree with you they are approved by most people to be good songs, but as far as other who write original songs thinking they are and not? That actually to me is not always so. Yes there are allot of people out there that do write crap and would NEVER make it big. But that doesn't mean there are ones out there that do not write good music and just have never been discovered. Music companies of today pick and choose for many reasons other then then music these so called todays musicians put out when there are MUCH better musicians out there I have seen. Music companies will pick up on people 90% of the time just for the way they look! Truth is most of these musicians of today only get know because of how they are marketed not truly on their talents. There are allot of really great musicians out there that just get skipped over because of looks or bad marketing and lack of exposure to the world. But I will also give you another example of what I mean below in the next comment to the other reply. As well as some really good guitar players that are not known.
