I have to say that I have very varied tastes when it comes to music. When I heard this song...wow...I fell in love. It makes me want to dance and write and paint and whatever else inspires me. Very interesting song and keeps it simple too. Good southern music with a charm! Just wanted to share it with you and see what you think. Does this song have feeling or what? Old Crow Medicine Show is the name of the band and the song is Wagon Wheel...in case your not comfortable with the link. I'm not real crazy about the video but the song is awesome.

I admit that this song is kind of catchy, and I'm not one who likes listening to country music. Of course, if you make me listen to anything a few times, I'll grow to like it eventually, even if I don't want to. This song sounds nice, but I'm afraid I wasn't able to hear what he was singing without having to search up the lyrics.

I also have varied tastes in music, and I really didn't much care for the song. Not sure.........think it just sounds like others AND reminds me of the country music we heard growing up.

It does have the "older" feel to it. Maybe that is part of some of it's charm for me. I never really listened to country type music when I was younger..lol...my coming out. I'm not really crazy about a lot of it but for some reason this song catches me...lol. Thanks for the response.

I never listened to country much, either until a few months ago...........well maybe longer than that, but I got into watching the videos and discovered some of the music wasn't too bad. BUT it is different from what I grew up.

Real good song Jenn, the kinda of country accent not very strong...what's the whole song mean? Very light background music also ...Thanks for sharing.

no..the country accent is not very strong...I don't think the band is actually from the South. It's just about a guy traveling south on foot to see his girl. I'm glad you liked it. I actually like the video better where there are scenes from my area. Thanks for responding.

I'm the same way regarding a wide taste in music and this song is definitely a unique sound. I like it though. The band has a folk/country sound. It's similar to music I got onto from the soundtracks of the movies "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and "Elizabethtown". You should check out some songs from them by "Hem" and "Eastmountainsouth". You'd probably like them.

I like the song too and I agree the video is not much to get excited about. I have not heard of this band before but I enjoyed the song. I am not into country music much. My favourite song of all time is Leonard Cohen’s Dance Me to the End of Love, it’s beautiful and makes me want to cry!

In fact before I replied this post I listened first on what you said music... I like it honestly. It made me swayed as we speak heheheheheh.I really really like it...Thanks for this...I would add this people in my memory of good southern music....

Hi mobhomeir! I am the same as you when it comes to being busy and on the go. I would usually just listen to whatever was playing on the radio. I was out with my b/f and a band was there covering this song do I decided to look it up. Thanks for responding and I'm glad you like it.

I just saw the video on youtube, and yes, it is very catchy. It sounds like country but with a twist. The video was a little bit strange to me, but the song I liked. I am like you, I listen to just about any kind of music. I am grateful that my kids are like that as well. We consistantly am changing the radio channels while driving in the car.

I thought the video was odd too. I didn't really think it went with the song. I did find one on there that is like scenes of the south. It actually went a lot better with the song than the actual video in my opinion. I think it's great to be versatile with music. If you get stuck listening to the same genre all the time there is a lot that can be missed out on. My girls are the same as me. They listen to almost anything. Thanks for the response.

Hi Jen. I liked the song until he started singing. I think the song would be great as an instrumental piece of background music, but that straining country sound of vocal really annoys me!

Old Crow Medicine Show is the name of the band. They actually have a few good songs but that one is my favorite right now. It does have an "older" sound to it which is kind of the charm I think. They also sing it with such feeling..I think that matters too. I was out with my b/f when I heard a local band cover it and I just wanted dance...I was at home that next morning trying to search them up. Thanks for responding and check them out here and there.
