anyone here who've used any type of pregnancy test kits? i'm trying to read my strips and i can't seem to figure whether it's a 2 strip or just 1. you see, i can see the distinctive T line (the one that determines pregnancy), but it has a faint color. not as vivid as the C line. i tried it twice and the result is consistent. i think it's positive, and we do pray it so. but to be sure, my husband says we should test again next week then go for a medical check-up.
what do you guys reckon?

I have heard about there being a faint line and it means pregnant. So the 'control' is vivid and the 'pregnancy' is faint. I imagine that you are pregnant. I usually take a more advanced pregnancy test if I miss my period. A test like that can say 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'. There are some pregnancy test kits which can work a few days before the period is due. They are almost 100% reliable. A true positive pregnancy result is usually completely right. It is possible to have a negative result if not enough of the hormone is shown. It that case it is better to test again with a more advanced pregnancy test. Good luck with finding out your result.

The First Response pregnancy tests are good too! They are 99% accurate ... 2 lines means your pregnant and 1 means your not! I used them for both of my girls and got a positive result both times!

wishing it to be positive. well, it would be better to visit an OB-gyn to have an ultrasound. Is your monthly period delayed already?

For both of my girls I used a First Response pregnancy test! 1 line means negative (not pregnant), and 2 lines means positive (you are)! with my oldest both lines showed up right away and very clearly, but with my second child 1 line was clear but the other line was faint. After both tests though I went to the Doctor to get it confirmed just in case it was a false positive because I was told in my early 20's that I couldn't have kids, but a specialist I was sent to fixed the problem and actually cared enough to help me get it fixed where as the others did not!

In my case, after being late for two days (we were really trying so I was looking out for it), I bought four test kits, used three myself and made my sister use the fourth. Mine all showed very clear two lines and hers didn't. I was too excited though and went to the OB-GYN two days later and since the doctor wouldn't positively confirm it that early, I had an ultrasound (wish I hadn't - waste of money) and the only positive sign was the thicker uterine walls. I did turn out to be pregnant (she's almost 4 now), but I was just too dang excited, lol. Hope it's great news for you as well.:)

Hi,
I have used pregnancy test kit before and so far the
result is accurate for me. Thanks god...the result was always
Negative.(I am not ready for the next child yet).
I am a mother of one kid and for me, one kid is more than enough.
Due to high living expenses,I don't think I will have another
kid at this point of time.
Since you have tried twice and does not get the best result, it is
advisable to visit a gynae or clinic for the pregnancy test to confirm
the outcome.
Hope you will have a good news on your check-up.
Takecare..

Yes, we did. We used pregnancy kit to test pregnancy before go to doctor. I bought test pregnancy kit for my wife. The kit test HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) hormone in urine. Human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced in pregnancy that is made by the developing embryo after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast (part of the placenta). The concentration of hcg will increase by double each 3 days.
The best time to perform test is in the morning. The first urine in the morning will contain the good concentration of hcg. This will give your accurate result. If you found your test is negative, you may try again a week later. If test result still negative, and you don't get menstruation then consult the doctor.

Wow, congrats... I hope it's positive.
I think different pregnancy test kits show results differently. The best thing is to go to the clinic and let them do a test on you. It's the most conclusive way.
My husband and I will be making our first child in a couple of months so I guess I'll be buying some test kits too :)

Sounds like from the discussion and comments that you both are hoping to be pregnant. I will cross my fingers for you as well. Such joy to see parents truly wanting a child and not just oops I got pregnant. So kudos to you.
I remember hearing on the news that pregnancy tests should not be considered as valid anymore. Although the dates on the box are not expired, the shelf life of them has been longer so people get false negatives and or positives. So the best thing is to visit a physician and get a true blood test.
Good luck to you sweetie, wish you the best and hey if not try and try again.
