http://trifter.com/practical-travel/mommy-there-are-mercs-in-the-bus-an-idea-of-thought-that-could-change-the-tourism-industry-greatly/ Hi guys, I've read upon this article about our tourism's security, because I want to hear your opinion with regards to this idea: do you think it's wise to hire the Privatized Military for tourists to prevent any hurt or backlash from the international community? Cause if our SWAT team is supposedly half-baked, and the funds are as dry as the desert? Don't you think it's time for the bus companies to hire the Privatized Military to protect them since the very police force they are depending on is FAIL... Should there be a role for the Privatized Military in our Tourism, yes or no?

Hello ton-ton. I believe that it's still imperative that police force security should be improved. not just preparedness but constant training should be must when ever sitution presents it. the worst part is that the chain of command should use every resources that they got, and not reserved it for no reason. for example, who knew until the senate hearing that there was a special forces on the area and where not used. wasn't that dumb? knowing the swat did it poorly and on their own as well? they embarassed themselves.. having a tourist guard could increase more fear to tourist. thus, making them avoid further going to the Philippines.

What about training all tourist personnel from the driver down to the tourist guide so that they will know how to protect their passengers and themselves? Back in the early 80's I remember the TV show That's Incredible. They featured an elite group of English butlers (yes, just like Alfred Pennyworth of Bruce Wayne). They know how to cope with emergencies. Imagine the character of Jason Statham in the Transporter series comes to life. These butlers knows how to detect if their clients are in danger. They are experts in defensive driving of any vehicles. They were ex marines and therefore knows hand to hand combat.

Mercenaries to guard tourists? That is an overkill. All they need are security guards.

security guards - on the bus and not wearing uniforms.
Hahahaha i totally agree with you there. that would too scary. this reminds me of Anderson Cooper going to Mindanao for that "World's Untold story" him interviewing a intelligence agent who's spying on the Abusayaff. he felt uncomfortable having so many guards. but then it's Mindanao and close to terrorist territory.i agree, they only need security guards...on a bus, i think

hi, i think no need to do that, just expand or deploy more police and military men into different places to avoid some any hurt from danger. like what happened here in Philippines last 2010, because each incidence will make our tourism down and negative from other country.
