The green revolution is here. What are you doing to go green?

Hi everyone! This is my first topic. To do my part to go green, I've chosen the Green Lantern as my avatar. But it's only the start. Let's all do our little part to make the earth a cleaner, happier place. The earth is a beautiful planet. Let's not ruin it. I'm shopping more carefully for biodegradable products amongst other things. What about you? What are you doing to go green?

No, I'm agoraphobic. Don't go out unless, I ride with someone, which is very rare. I avoid shopping for things such as clothes or other things that are not needed. I take care of my family's house and they feed me so my diet is normal. (We have a garden too.) I've been connecting with my spirituality now since I've cut a lot of ties with material things.

Fantastic, you have cut out driving! Do you walk a lot or cycle? Composting and recycling, very nice. Tell us more about how you avoid shopping? Are you on a special diet? Have you found a way to live on love and air? LOL

Sorry to hear that. Glad that you are somehow coping with your situation. I am a regular reader of the Bible and find it very encouraging to see the kind of world that is coming soon. Please read Isaiah 33:24 where it tells us "No one living in Zion will say, "I am ill";" Imagine a world where illness of any kind will not exist. Remember how Jesus could cure any illness when he was on earth?

I eat a vegan diet for health and ethical reasons. I like to eat vegetables and fruit plus nuts and seeds. For years in my daily life I cycled my bike to and from work. Now I have a car I use it for to take my disabled son around in it. I still use trains and they are a green form of transport. I use green products for my home and many of them are biodegradable. I think th world is a beautiful place and I want to help protect it. I still travel on a plane a couple of times a year. I would like to see a plane developed that would harm the world and its landscape less.

Congratulations on your choice of diet. Great for the cycling too. I understand on your use of the automobile. They are getting better and maybe one day we'll have automobiles that don't harm the environment. We can do it. The science is there and many kinds of engines have already been developed that do little harm to the environment. I'll have to give you a big thumbs up (can't use the emotes, sorry). I just wish there had been a green one. Keep doing what you are doing, the earth and all caring people thank you for the positive things you are doing! (smile)

Hi, formidexo We can all do our part - our place has been an ecology municipality for many years. We have a recycling system for different materials including one for organic waist.
I have never owned a car and at the moment I am walking more as my bicycle is out of order. I need exercise, so I try to walk every day and feel a lot better..

Wonderful buenavida! Great about the recycling! I have come to view walking as the miracle exercise. It is definitely going green by walking. No pollution. And it makes you healthier so that less resources are spent on masking our health better. Keep walking!

I have a Sami friend who can build houses like this - the material is called peat or turf. Should be environment friendly. He has lived in this kind of house before and plans to do so for a while, maybe next month.

And he sent you kind greeting..

yea even i choose biodegradable products over plastic.
i dont use a motor vehicle unless i have to go to a far place.i use my bicycle to go to shorter distances.and i have many trees in my home.i like trees a lot.i grow a variety of trees.
Avoid plastic it wont degrade even after million years if u bury it under the earth and if u burn it it causes a lot of pollution.
