Do you believe that life is a dream?

There is a small section of people who believe that life is a dream. The phenomena and objects one experiences during the state of dreaming appear real and true for the period he/she remains in the dreaming state only.As soon as one wakes up,he/she then finds that all those objects/phenomena are unreal and have no existence. It is the state of one's mind that determines which is real or unreal. As long as a person stays in ordinary and normal state of consciousness in relative plane of life,he/she perceives everything as real till he/she wakes up to higher or Absolute level of consciousness. It may take a series of births to attain such higher level. Till that period,one remains ignorant of one's real self and considers the physical worldly objects and phenomena as real and true. Do you believe that life is a dream? What are your views?

This is like a form of hypnosis almost and I don't they actually mean that literally. I don't believe life is a dream. I think that people can put themselves in a hypnotic state and feel it is like a dream. And dreams can be very realistic.

Life is not a dream. Life is a beautiful kaleidoscope of colour,textures, nuances and distinctions, a canvas of subtleties, differences and diversities. But just as the old saying " beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" the reality of the world also lies in the eyes of the beholder. In fact, Your perception is only your reality. Reality cant exist until someone gives meaning. However, a person may perceive a situation to becomes the trust of them. Someone else will likely perceive it differently.

There is no denying the fact that the diverse elements of life make it quite exciting,colorful and beautiful. I understand that people tend to perceive it differently and accept it as real as they percieve. Thanks for sharing your views.

Science has proven that what we call reality is caused by the mind. What we see and rely on as solid is nothing but particles of energy moving together at a certian velocity (I am not very scientific so to not describe this correctly I'm sure) This means we all live in a world of illusion, so it could be described as a dream state.

Some years ago I wrote a poem about this topic. I will try to translate it to English:
One night I dreamt that I was dreaming
In my dream I was angry at myself because I had overslept and I had missed my exam
Then I woke up (still in my dream) and I discovered that I hadn't overslept
That was nothing but a dream
I felt happy and relieved
And then I woke up in real life and I discovered that there was no exam
That was nothing but a dream
I wonder when I am going to wake up next time and I wonder when I am going to discover that the thing that I consider my life
is nothing but a dream

Hiya naray,
Do I wish Life was a dream all day long but I know that it is not so that´s why I like to go on dreaming even in the morning till I wake up.
Life is too harsh sometimes for anyone to take it gets to us all no matter who we are. Today could be one of those Days for me and it´s not a bad Day really it´s just the attitude I took this Morning when I got up. Actually I got up quite positive until certain things started to go the wrong way.
Never mind I can catch up later.

Thanks for sharing your good thoughts and views. A small section of people who feel themselves fully awakened and aware,do not accept life as real. In the dreaming state,every thing and phenomena one dreams are felt real till he/she wakes up and then understands that those scenes were unreal, momentary and fleeting. It is because one can not remain in both awakened and dreaming state at the same time. All the experiences one passes through in this period of life on this earth vanish just as a dream. The only difference is that dream continues for only few minutes or hour whereas life continues for a few years. This is their belief.

no!we only experience beautiful and perfect life in our dream but in the real sense we are in this crucial world that we need to face different hindrances and challenges for us to survive.if our life is a dream no one wants to wake up because in a dream life is perfect.

Well, I am a computer professional and unlike many who feel that life is a dream, I feel that Life is a computer Program. We exist as variables in a large program that controls and decides what has to happen to us. Maybe I am a believer of luck and destiny, but this is what intrigues me and makes my belief more stronger.
We are parts of a very complicated program that is being run by someone whom we call God. He decides when to use us, how to use us and the best part is that all of it is so very well defined that there is no chance of us escaping or taking the wrong route.

I don't believe this life is a dream I think its more like hell.. We go through so much in the few years that we are here that I feel its preperation for the heaven thats to come when we pass on. Now with that being said it also depends on how we handled our hell on earth if we get to see Heaven are live in a constant hell there after.

That life is not a dream. Because we can feel about any things, we can happy, we can sad... If life is a dream, we can't fell them.
