i have very dry skin which causes other skin conditions such as foliculitus and another one,i've been using the cream and shower from the gp for years with no avail, but while in a salon the other day i just mentioned my skin problems and the lady said why not try moisturizer with aloe vera in,so i bought some aloe vera and cucumber cream on special offer fron asda, and it has nearly cleared my skin up,if only i'd known that aloe vera was all i needed, well now i know i shall carry on using it

Lush is a retailer similar to the Body Shop but sell home-made soaps and Gothicat is correct, the smell is amazing and I don't even go in lol. Try a search in your local area for branches. Hopefully you will have one like we do. Good luck!

I have tried lots of creams, lotions, potions over the years and nothing has worked for my skin condition,as i suffer from psoriasis. The only things that i use now is injections that are from the hospital and that keeps it as good as it will ever be.Sometimes i have a barrier cream that i have to use if i am going to be near animals etc,due to risk of infection.

Why dont you ask to see a derm specialist,as they are who i am under and they are great,if you want to see a specialist your gp can refer you to one.

I've never known that you could use aloe vera for dry skin. However, I've been using it for those times that I get sunburnt for as long as I can remember. That stuff is awesome for a sun burn. This summer was the first time in my life that I've ever suffered from any degree of eczema and I had absolutely no clue at all as to what to do for it, but if I have another flair-up of it, I think I would be willing to give aloe a try.

Hiya doormouse, Me too I bought a great big Jar of Aloe Vera and it lasted me ages and it was not some famous brand or anything like that. It´s a brand that has been going for years but they are not famous. This has helped with dry skin that I get from time to time and it feels nice and light and it has an enormous amount of Aloe Vera in it too. Just fantastic stuff. Good to see your problem has cleared up.

It is always great to hear that someone finds a remedy that works for them. Aloe Vera is so good for many things. I am sure that your skin problems get to be very uncomfortable from time to time. Glad this worked for you.

That's terrific! My dad once burned his hands really badly, and a lady from our church brought him her aloe vera plant. She puts some on his hands, and overnight his hands pretty much healed.

Oh yes, Aloe Vera is indeed very good for the skin. So is cocoa butter. I have combination skin, and in winter it's a little dry but in summer it's a little oily. So I have to use different lotions. For example, I can't use cocoa butter in summer. But I'm glad you found something that works for you :)

I think you have to apply unboiled milk to your skin twice a day and you can see improvement day by day.

For me what helps with my dry skin is that every time I use lotion I use a dab of Vaseline along with the lotion, it keeps my skin smooth and soft. I get a lot of compliments and well I learn this tip when I use to model it was highly recommended by cosmetologists.

Aloe vera is good stuff for dry skin conditions, you can get it as a drink as well and that's supposed to help people with arthritis too. it's a good plant to have as you can just snap off the leaves and use it to treat minor burns and other skin complaints, it's a bit like a cactus and has liquid inside the leaves.

Hey there doormouse A fellow mylotter and friend of mine, aslanlight, swears by coconut oil. She cooks with it a lot and swears it makes her skin as smooth as a baby's bum. I too have dry skin but find coconut oil to expensive to use in cooking but will look into buying skin products with it in to help, when I get some time as soon as the kids go back to school!

Aloe Vera is fantastic for dried skin and for sunburn. We do not use it in the form of a cream here, but we do have a few Aloe Vera plants. You just break off one of the branch/leaf things and slice it in half down the middle. You then apply the gel from inside the plant to the affected area and it heals. Coconut oil is another great thing for skin conditions. So is Lavender oil.

I have no skin problems because I drink lots of water. Due to that, my skin is always look shiny and fresh like an fresh apple. I have skin problems due to mosquito byte only. After 2 or 3 days it will disappear automatically. If I found any pimples on my face I will apply natural neem or aloe vera paste on that area, which are always available in our garden.
