An Extra Hour in the Day

What would you do if you were granted an extra hour in the day? For me, I think that I would make it some me time. With my children and my nieces and the little kids in the neighborhood constantly in and out of my house, I really could use an extra hour in the day that could be used for something for me. I would probably just enjoy a bath or get some scrapbooking done or something like that, but I do think that it would relieve me of a lot of stress that I face in my life.

With an extra hour in the day I'd probably do like you and take a nice bath, or maybe just hang out with my husband watching television, playing card, board, or video games, or even just hang out with friends, browse Salvation Army and Good Will.

Yes, the extra hour would be a good extra time for relaxing. The current number of hours in the day may already be packed full with work and activities!

See, the idea of actually having time in the day where I would be able to relax would be a gift for me.

You are right about that. However, it seems that though there are other things that I never find the time to do, I am always able to find the time to sleep.

My days are pretty long and very stressful too with many hours at the work place. If I were granted an extra hour, I would go out to the park near where I live and enjoy a good jogging. That would get rid of all the stresses of the day, and I would be refreshed. Very helpful for health too. A nice cold drink after the jogging would be very enjoyable.

Exercise is a very important part of our lives and we really should make sure that there is enough time in the day so that we would be able to exercise at some point during the day.

oh you poor girl. it really sounds like you need a break, vacation or something. what about school? i used to take some time to enjoy, relax and kick back after they left for school. reason why i didnt like snow days now, i just close my door, in my room and do whatever. read or go on mylot or watch tv. try and ignore the noise. but guess what? tomorrow the noisey kid and crazy gal will be gone

There is no denying the fact that I need a vacation. You see, until a couple years ago, I was never home for very extended periods of time, but then my grandmother passed away and since then I've not had another place to go so that I could escape reality.

I do not think an extra hour a day would make any difference... you only will have a 25 hour day! which soon would be included into your 24 hour day...which means you will be still working an extra hour and for what?...I believe in good time management some people say they never have time...but time is there for every one alike. Time is endless, and I know sometimes I have said to myself [I have not time for this]but you know what! I have learnt there is time for every thing always. So no I do not want an extra hour day!

You only have 2? you are lucky I had 4...I did wish sometimes for an extra pair of hands...or legs or brains[ I guess I would have looked like a monster] but anyway I did survive[ some how] what I used to do was make sure all the children were in bed by 8.30 pm so every night I would have an hour to my self before going to bed...that worked for me, but we are all different what work for someone may not work for another.

Well, I only have two that live with me. I also have my two nieces that are with me during the day, but at least they do go home at night. I wish that I could do really early bedtimes for the kids, but that isn't an option because of the work hours that my husband has.

I can completely see why you don't want to see an extra hour in the day. For me, however, being a busy mother of two younger children, I would love to have one more hour of time while the kids are asleep that I would be able to get something done.

Wow! I think your idea to spend an extra hour with your children would be fun. For me, I think I would use it to sleep. I know it should be productive, but I find it difficult to sleep because I'm very active and I want to keep on doing something. I'm annoyed when I'm idle and I really keep on involving myself in activities that are, of course, productive for me. These are the reasons why I rarely get some sleep. Anyhow, I also wish a day isn't made up of only 24 hours. Because like you said, I want to sleep more, I want to be with my loved ones longer. But I also appreciate that we have so little time because if we don't, I don't think we'll appreciate each time we spend here on earth with the most important persons in our lives.

You are completely right that we really need to value the time that we have with our family and those people that we love. We are each granted with only a limited time on earth and it is important to use that time wisely.

Hi dorannmwin, I have to spend most of the time doing household chores, watering and weeding in my little vegetable garden as well as my part time work. Thus I always find I don't have sufficient time sitting in front of my laptop. I have a sense of great reluctance to part from my laptop when the clock is striking twelve in the night. I usually take another extra half an hour I then willing to stay away from it and ready for bedtime I would like the clock on the wall to stop right at 11:59:59 pm. Therefore I still could enjoy having fun on my computer. It would be a great pleasure if it would start its usual striking of twelve after an hour later. I feel content if having another extra one hour to do whatever I love on my laptop. Happy posting

it's true that most of the netizens nowadays tend to have such same practice once sticking to the web. We feel reluctant to stay away from our pc even it's already late in the wee hours.

For you it is your laptop, for me it is my computer. Either way, it really is hard to shut it down for the night no matter how you cut it.

i would relax too. these days people are stuck with their job and they can't do anything else but job and job. Time feels fly so fast. sometimes i don't even realize that the day just got over.

I am lucky that I've been given the ability to be a stay at home mother, but still you would think that I would have idle time, but that isn't the case at all.

I will reward that extra for myself. I’ve been very generous of my time for everyone and everything. It’s high time for me to pamper myself with that extra. I will relax and sleep to get more strength and energy—to become ready for another day of great challenges and victories.

I agree with you that as a mother the extra time that we would be granted in the duration of the day should be time in which we would be able to reward ourselves in some way, shape or form.

since we don't have that extra time yet...let's be wise enough to manage our time. That despite our so busy schedules and for being a multi-tasked person we can still find brief moments for ourselves. hopefully, that extra time will be granted to us this christmas season hehehehe. Cheers!

I agree that it's going to be a 'me-time' if I had an extra hour of the day. And I wouldn't do anything fancy. I might just get an extra hour of sleep which I can't seem to get enough of. Or I could just go driving around the city, or go walking in a mall. I don't have to buy stuff, just enough time so I could hear myself think!

If I were given an extra hour, I would spend it on MyLot since I barely have time except on Sundays. Eight days a week, like the Beatles sang, would be much better.

In one sense it really does seem like it would be much better, but I honestly think that if there were eight days in a week it would only mean that we would be expected to work more during the week.

I would probably deep condition my hair and have a nice bath, I never have enough time to do that anymore. Then I'd probably just go to bed, it's getting rough trying to go on 5 hours of sleep all the time.

I really don't know what I would do with an extra hour. I might spend more time on mylot, or with my husband, or something like that. I would have to think about what I would do with an extra hour.

It is so odd to think that there are people that would havea difficult time allocating more time into their day whereas I could think of at least 101 ways that I would love to spend an extra hour.

I would use it to read or maybe paint. It depends whether it is light or dark. If it's light I would try to be outside if dark reading woudl be my first choice.

I guess I would use the extra hour for a little alone time too. So I can just relax and chill out for myself and maybe hang out with some friends. Maybe I would catch up on a hobby that I enjoy or read a book that I really like. Or I could just get an extra hour of sleep. lol.

An extra hour in the day does sound heavenly! I would definitely be spending it how i wanted to. i would spend it shopping at my favorite stores or I would take a long relaxing bubble bath, or even do something spontaneous. I spend my day doing for others. I think i would deserve that extra hour to myself.

Life is a never ending learning experience and time is of the essence. So, whatever excess time i may have, i would probably use it for a real purpose. I prefer to use such time to hone my writing skills and improving my English language. I hope some day that i will be able to speak fluently English and pronounce correctly.
