Fruit Baskets and Holidays

I quite like a nice fruit basket although I would prefer a nice hamper full of goodies (LOL)! They certainly can be a last minute gift but can also be ideal as a family gift for people one is not too close to such as neighbours, teachers etc. It does depend though. I don’t think they are a bad gift at all and let’s face some folks are impossible to buy for!

I wonder if it was a treat in the olden days. Not that people now days would understand but produce wasn't available all year long like it is now 100 yrs ago. With improvements in transportation we have access to things we can't grow here and trade off with countries in the southern hemisphere who have summer during our winters ect. I don't recall when I did get a fruit basket. I know SIL likes to send them to the IL's but then they give half away because they don't eat much.

I think that that is the best thing that people can do for Christmas is give fruit baskets. Say you don't know the people too well, and you want to be friends, fruit is always a good way to show that you like them and want to make a peace offering.

It is true that some people will buy fruit baskets as holiday gifts because they waited too long to buy something or didn't know what eklse to buy? some people often these fruit baskets because they think it is a gift to be enjoyed by the whole family. You can usually please everyone on your holiday gift list this way. I never get upset or disappointed by this kind of gift. i always appreciate it. When i give this gift, I'm not always sure it appreciated as it was intended.
