I have always been interested in taking pictures. I always carry my digital camera everywhere I go but I always have trouble with lighting and its color. Sometimes my photos are too yellow or red. how can I set it at the right color and how will I position my camera to get the best light from the sun or indoor lights?

The questions you are asking here are really complicated and can't be answered simply. The lighting question alone could fill a book (and it does since there are so many written on the subject)! Your best bet is to read the manual that came with your camera so you can understand it's basic functions. Then, you should go and see some of the photos that are around the next in forums such as those at www.photographyreview.com (go to forums and check out the critique section). If you read the critiques being given, it will help you review your own images and figure out what you may need to do to get better shots. I would not suggest posting a photo for review because, if you are really new and don't know what you are doing, you will get beaten up pretty badly and it may be disheartening. They aren't trying to hurt you but there is just nothing so sad as thinking you have a great image and having someone tear it apart. Of course, if you have thicker skin, then go ahead and post. You can learn so much from these folks. And there are TONS of sites like that all over the web. Try searching for photo critique and see what comes up.
I would also suggest reading books on the subjects and also finding sites like http://www.morguefile.com/docs/Classroom These lessons are free and you can choose whether you want to participate or not. There are other sites that also offer free classes. Just look for "free photography class" or free photography lessons or something along those lines.
Ultimately, be prepared for a LOT of information that will seem so foreign and confusing at first. I know I thought it was! But take it a little at a time and work your way up. Good Luck!
