Most movies that are coming out and have been release are often in 3D format.
Is it really worth shedding money just to watch these movies.
Most of these movies that came out are just eye candy. What ever happened to the movies that had a real story.
In my opinion, the only 3D movie that was worth my money was James Cameron's Avatar. The other really depressed me, especially the The Last Airbender, the movies did not do justice to the actual series.
Guys, what do you think of the 3D movies that came out.

I really don't care if its in 3D or not as long as the story is nice. I agree with you that James Cameron's Avatar is so far the best movie that is shown in 3D. You should have watched Toy Story 3. Its great in 3D and also the story is great. Shrek the 4th is also shown in 3D but I don't like the story that much.
3D is the new way of showing movies in Hollywood. So let us expect more movies to be shown in 3D. This is fine for me as long as they don't neglect the quality of the story.

I agree, a good movie is a movie with a really good story.

I don't really care much for them... 3D glasses make my eyes hurt. And there is not really much difference if you watch a movie in 3D or normal mode...and yeah, it's the story that counts. Even if it's 3D, it's not even that realistic, and I don't think lots of people really like ti too.. i think they are just want to try it because it's the trend these days...I hope this 3D thing ends soon...it's just a waste of time..

That is the problem, studios are making movies in 3D, often sloppy post production conversions, which only use it as a sales gimmick. Very few have actually used it as an embellishment to story telling rather than just an embellishment to a set piece scene.
Hopefully sooner or later audiences will wise up to the fact they are paying more for a gimmick at which point studios will start to reconsider just throwing 3D in because it's a novelty and look at how to use it to embellish the way the story is told on a whole ...... then again studios haven't really given us movies with good storylines for a very long time so the chances of them using it to aid the story telling is quite unlikely.

Yes, I agree.
Its all gimick.
The stories are mediocre and don't really make a bang.
I just hope they release movies worth watching.

I was not impressed with the 3D effect
I watched The Last Airbender on 3D. The movie was okay (not that great) but it would still be okay even if it was not on 3D. I actually regretted paying that much for a movie. Next time, I would just go for the regular ones. A great movie is a great movie even without 3D effect.
Have a nice day!

The Last Airbender really sucked.
M Knight Shamalan should not be directed kids movies.
As grown up. I watch the series and its really great. The stories are simple yet amusing.
He really killed it. And they now plan to release the Book 2 : Earth. I just wish its better than the first movie. Otherwise, it would have been better if they made a cgi movie of the said title.

I don't care for 3D. To me, it's just paying extra money to get a headache. 3D images don't translate well to my eyes. I have to keep blinking to keep the image in focus, and what I do see is really not that impressive. The last movie I saw in 3D was Avatar, and while the visuals were stunning I was not that impressed with the 3D and I didn't really like the story at all. I see all the 3D movies in regular 2D and I don't think I've missed out on anything.
