I do...It helps me express a feeling or emotion that I conceal to myself. It gives me a sense of pride and fulfillment after finishing my work of art. It releases my fears, anger, depression, and regrets while it cures them. You cannot always find a someone to listen to you all the time, but with a pen and a piece of paper, you can find a friend, whenever...wherever...whatever...

I don't think my poetry is that good, but I also love to write the occasional poem. It's a way for me to express myself, like you said, and let go of a lot of pent up emotions. Usually I just write out what I'm feeling, but sometimes I'll write it in the form of a poem. I kinda write them like song lyrics and imagine music behind them.

Ha. I'm afraid I wouldn't be very good at composing rap lyrics. I'm not really into rap anyway. Sorry.

I learned about the world of poetry in my ninth grade English class. i have loved it ever since. i have written poetry on and off since high school. I enjoy reading poetry as well as writing it. Poetry is the best way to express how i feel in words. Poetry will always be a big part of my life.

Hi Len... I used to write poems when I was a teenager..I guess that was the last time I wrote a poem. Indeed writing poems was a good way of venting out whatever I was feeling way back then. I also used to write poems whenever I am inspired and give it as a gift to my loved ones - friends, and close relatives. It was a wholesome way to release various emotions hehehe. I don't know what happened but I don't seem to have the zest for writing poems now.. Maybe someday I will try to write some lines again. Thanks and happy mylotting. :D

i usually write poems when i am hurt.so you wont find the mushy "roses are red" stuff among my works.i hate free verse (poems with non-rhyming lines) and try to rhyme stuff as much as possible. now imagine doing rhymes with murderous thoughts boiling in your head at the same time..there you go..

Yes, I Love to Write poems and have written many different ones over the yrs. Even had a couple of them made into a little booklet about 28 yrs. ago or so that I would Love to see if anyone would ever still have a copy of. I find this to be one of the ways to express how I truly feel about things, as well as my Love and faith in god, and sometimes my deepest fears and feelings as well. I truly believe when you find a piece of paper and start writing, especially as in a Poem, you can truly find a friend, while learning more about yourself in the end.

Writing has been my favorite hobby since my high school years, and is still very much so. I enjoy writing short stories, articles, reviews, commentaries, and so on. But, not poems. I do not have the gift for composing poems. It certainly takes special literary skills. I do like reading poems, and very much appreciate the essence of the writings.

As a way to release my emotions, yes
I love it like that
but when it comes to using it as "leverage" towards
a girl or interest you feel for? Thanks, but no thanks.
Poetry was made for one purpose, expression of the intellect
creativity and emotions of the mind.

Hi,
I am not good in writing a poems and not sure where
to start from.
During my school time, I remember my teached do ask me to
write a poem and everytime I will get a big headache as I
really don't have any idea on how to write.
I should say, writing a poem is not my hobby.

I like writing poems, and just as you said, it helps me expressing my emotions, my untold feelings. But unlike you, i can't write a poem when i have high emotions, especially in anger. Usually, i wrote a poem to express beauty, love, nature, or perhaps sadness, sorrow, or griefs. But i don't know why, i can't do it while my heart and brain is full of anger. Perhaps, i need such calmness to write a poem.
