how to understand the elder

I am in my 20's, and my mom is around 60. From three years apart I saw her hair turning grew and her mind is not so smart, just like child. When I ask her not to do sth, she always forgot.
Do you ever come across those such things? How do you deal with it?
Especially, when she did the same mistake again and again, and I came angry......
