Actually now the answer for Shahid Afridi's early retirement from the test team and the refuses by some key players on pak captaincy is becoming clear.
I heard from news that Afridi is one of the clean player in pak team and he is retired because of the close link of some pak players with the match fixers.
so was Afridi aware of the match fixing earlier??
and if so will he be able to continue playing cricket for pakisthan in ODI and T20??
was Afridi clean??

yes it may be true because he became the test captain in that series and retired in mid series... because some bookies may approached him and even may be forcing him... hence he retired in test... Icc should investigate him also to know the real truth behind...

I know for sure that Shahid is supposed to be a strict disciplinarian. And given the circumstances it is clear that people would not have been disciplined. The manner in which he exited the captaincy of tests was very suspicious. But, I am not 100% sure if he is clean, because he has still retained the captaincy of the T20 and ODI teams which also largely consists of the same players. Also it is more easier to fix the T20 and ODI matches than the test matches!!
Cheers!

I feels that he is clean because he is such a passionate player.
and his love towards his nation is crystal clear.
but your point is valid that, why he is continuing in ODI and T20.
if he had retired from all format, defenitely everyone will suspect him.
if the team is going like this, he will retire from other formats slowly.

I do not think Afridi retired from tests because of his colleagues are getting involved with match fixers. Afridi basically is front foot player who slogs and does not have patience to play a long patiences innings. He is poor on back foot and against good swing bowling. SO, in tests his batting will of that of tail-end batsman type, so he is not fit for test cricket. He is more suited to T20 cricket and then in ODI's he can be a good bowler who can hit a decent 20 to 50 runs, if it is batting track and bowling is weak then he can score a hundred quickly as well. It is shame that Pakistan team is having problems with players like Younus Khan and Shoiab Mallik, these two players are good. I feel it is time to give captaincy to Kamran Akmal or Umar Akmal or back to Md Yousuf in tests. In ODI's and T20 Afridi is right choice. I cannot comment whether Afridi is involved or know that match fixing is going on from long time. I can only say or hope that he is clean from match fixing.

but it looks like he was aware of these match fixing.
pak players were not allowded to play in IPL and their money earning option was closed. so they tried it by match fixing.
and as every one belive and me too belive that afridi is clean in bribe issue and he is very passionate to his nation.
so it will be hard to play with match fixers and thats why he quited in the middle of the test series.

Afridi is not suitable for test cricket, as his name given by the fans BoomBoom indicates that his batting is entirely depends on the situations of the match. he wants to hit the more score with less balls and score towards the winning of the match. So he is only suitable for limited overs match like 50 overs or 20 overs match. The decision taken by him is good. I don't think he aware of the match fixing earlier before his retirement for test cricket. He is the most senior player in the Pakistan team, surely i think there is no awareness/involvement of Afridi during the recent match-scandal.

I think mate that Afridi was never comfortable playing test cricket as his way of playing suits the limited over format not the test cricket.Another thing is its has always been the case with Pakistan team that they had loads of talent but only Imran khan was the player who was successful in keeping them united and play as a team ,Inzamam was able to do it to an extent .The relation between the players especially in test team deteriorated after the Pak tour of Australia, it happens actually when you are winning there are no ego clashes and there is happy atmosphere in dressing room but when you start losing continuously the blame game starts and same must have happened with Pakistan team .Afridi must have felt choked in this negative atmosphere and so he decided to step down, as we all know Cricket is a mind game and when your mind is in engaged in all this , you cant concentrate .This happened to an extent in Indian team too if you remember tiff between Sidhu and Azar when Sidhu returned to India leaving the team , tiff between Kapil dev and Prabhakar , but after good foreign coaches and Indian cricket becoming more professional these incidents were almost nil , just that sad incident between Bhajji and Sreesanth , but it didnt effect the team as such.Aussies are bang on in this , Mcgrath and Hayden were never friends and so were Gilly and Warne but they always played as one unit .I think Pakistan team lack professionalism though Afridi must have tried in this direction but when he was unsuccessful he msut have stepped down ,about him knowing that some of his fellow cricketers fix matches , he must have been helpless that time like at one point of time Sachin was when Prabhakar and Azar where in the team with him. When one man is true and he is with majority of corrupt people, then he is short of options in every field , not just cricket.

I accept that afridi was not a good test player, but his retirement just before this bribe issue smells something wrong.
i think he was aware of the issue and he quitted, simply because he was against it.
and look the captaincy issues in pak team.
nobody wishes to have it?
