In our country, making up unique names, like combining names, changing the spellings and naming them on their idols is becoming the norms. however, there are still those who just name their children I, II, III, IV etc and popular names... maybe because they just love their own name so much or they find it time consuming to think of names. As for my name, it's a combination of my grandmothers' names in both my father's and mother's sides and I like it since the outcome was a unique name and I would be very impressed with the person if they pronounced my name right or spell it right.
