Would google voice chat and text been charged since it connect to your cell?

I just wonder if I use the number google voice gave me, would I get unlimited chat and text? I was worry since this google number connected directly to my cellphone too. When I dial the number, my cell phone rings, and then it connect to the destination number I want to reach. I worry that my service provider will charge me if I overuse the minutes. What about text? I use google voice SMS send dozens of texts out to my friends. I just wonder would my service provider would charge me too?
