Do you watch talent shows?

I love this kind of shows, shows like got talent or x-factor. It is true that I follow mostly the Hungarian ones, but I watch on Youtube videos from other countries talent shows. These are very entertaining shows and there are on Saturday night. The whole family sits in the front of the TV and enjoys them. It is funny to see that many people go there and make a fool of themselves because they have no talents. And of course it is a great pleasure to watch talented people, which delight everybody.
How about you? Do you watch talent shows? What do you think about them?

I love reality talent show, I love to follow someone from the bottom up to grabbing the grand champion. It's nice!

I agree that is very nice to see a regular person who is really talented to become a real star, a person who is admired by a country because he is able to perform, not because he/she has good looks and in a studio magic can happen, so that the voice doesn't really matter.

I used to watch them when they first became popular, but the longer I watched the more I realized it was more a popularity contest than people voting on real talent. Now they bore me, but I'll still occasionally watch one when I have nothing else to watch.

I think that a "star" nowadays has to be popular, and this kind of shows are produced by commercial TV channels. However, I like to watch them, because there are lots of untalented persons who go there and I have a good laugh. If you say that there is more a popularity contest, I don't know how it is in your country, but in Hungary the person who won Hungary's got Talent was very shy, modest, with no good looks and silly appearance, but he has an extraordinary voice and this is why the whole country loves him. If you want to see him, go to youtube and search for Tabani Istvan. He sang Queen melodies too, if you cannot judge about the Hungarian songs.

In a lot of the American shows the most talented person won't win, but the one who has the best personality. I guess that can be good in some ways, but I like it better when the most talented person wins.
I agree with you on watching the untalented ones perform during the auditions. My favorite part of the talent shows are the auditions, and a lot of that is because I like watching the horrible people perform (I just don't want them to win).
I'll have to look up Tabani Istvan.

My family watches America's Got Talent or whatever it is; I only watch it sometimes.
