I was wondering if I snore when I sleep? Some people say I do but not very loud, I know my husband snores so loud sometimes I can not get to sleep sometimes. I was wondering if anyone knows if snoring is a sign of stress or it just means you are really tired? I have heard so many different things about snoring, I really don't know which one it is or if it is either?

Hi,
I also don't know whether I will snore when I sleep.
According to my husband, I do snore sometimes.
I guess maybe I am so tired ,that is why I was snoring when I slept.
It goes same to my husband, sometimes, I do heard he was snoring at night
and I always complain that his snoring is very loud.

hi snoring can be due to stress or being very tired also though it'can be due to sleep apnea which needs a doctor's attention. Sometimes the air ways are partly blocked somethimes from obesity with fat neck and chin, but one should see one's doctor for a check up.If a person snores then stops and does not breathe this is sleep apnea and could lead to heart'
trouble best to be seen by your doctor.

Maybe I do snore once in a while I believe when I am so tired. My mother always does, she snores loud and does disturbing sounds. She even speaks and hurt me when, she punch, pink and kick me.

well.., i don't know if i snore too.., But i'm sure my boyfriend does snore really loud and sometimes it's hard for me to sleep whenever he does that.., he once teased men that i snore too.., but my sisters said i don't..But i guess only snore when I was too exhausted that my jaw can't even handle the stress of keeping my mandible in place,,=)

i guess snoring is normal for most people, especially when they are exhausted before going to bed. but too much snoring, very loud snores and/or when one seems to lose breathing on his sleep is not a good sign for health.
take the case of my son. since he was a baby, he snore everytime he sleep. we even make fun of him when he was younger. we never thought it is something to be worried.
when we learn about this sleep disorder, we never took chances. we don't want to happen to our son what happened to others, when they even didn't know that snoring is not funny.
search for "sleep apnea" on mylot or on youtube, you will find more information about this sleep disorder. or you can see my profile for the video of my son, how he is being attacked by apnea. take note, that's everytime he sleep.

Snoring is a huge issue in our house because my husband is a very loud snorer. He is so bad that I can no longer share the same bed with him which is very upsetting as you can imagine. His snoring started when he put on weight; before that he only did it when he had a few drinks and could usually be kicked out of it! I have been told that I don’t snore and I hope that’s true (LOL)! I am not so sure if feeling extremely tired contributes to snoring; at least not the loud chronic types like my husband’s! I know colds can cause temporary snoring...

There's something different in the structure of throat between people who snore and people who don't. I believe this point because I know many people who don't snore no matter how tired or stressful they are. I can't sleep will if there's somebody snoring in the same room. I'm very sensitive to sound and light when sleeping.

i think neildc is right - that snoring could be a sign of a serious health problem.
my brother was not a loud snorer until he became overweight while my dad AND mom snored when they were really tired.
sometimes too i snore when too stressed. funny thing is i wake up suddenly because i realize i'm snoring, and then i'd go back to sleep telling myself "don't snore" lol.

....some people say it is due to stress and not enough sleep...but the real reason is this...base on the study, snoring is a common problem and most people have it...it is due to the relaxed muscles and tissues in our throat, tongue and mouth...the sound is caused by the air we breath which usually bounces around the relaxed muscles in our throat and mouth that caused to vibrates which is the reason why there is the snoring sound..
