Who is the great captain of indian team sourav or dhoni..?

it is definetly sourav ganguly... because he is one who brought confidence to team after the match fixing scandal in 2000... also he groomed players like sehwag by sacrificing his opening position and during hi period india started to win in away consistently....

First of all, thanks for replying me. I think its Dhoni , who makes the better captain than Ganguly. He is cool and behaves well with his teammates. He dosent lose his temper. Eventhough he just started , he have the potential to beat all the previous records of Indian captains.

I think both the captains are great. After Ganguly took a chance of Indian captain, he filled the new kind of spirit to the players.He is the most attacking player.His batting was superb/awesome in the early days of his captain-ship, he scored most of the centuries in the early matches of his captain-ship which helps India to win some good matches.Dhoni is also a good captain, during his caption-ship India had won some of the good series and maintaining the second/third place in ODI.Dhoni's caption-ship in Test series is awesome, during his caption-ship India is in first place in the table for more than year(hope so).

hi, It is very tough to judge who is better.Both of them have been excellent in cricket.They have done many record for the Indian team.Sourav used to play with his full ability.He often encourages young players.During his times,India was always struggling to win against Australia.Sourav would be tensed if most of the players does not perform in his team.He would be mood upset for few days.He also used to fight with his coach.So there has been so many controversies during Ganguly's time.But after him Dravid took over his place.He was not very successful in his captain ship.During his time,Indian team was losing most of the series.After Dhoni was appointed as T20 captain ,it created a problem for Dravid.But under Dhoni's captaincy India won T2o world cup.So ravid decided to quit his captaincy.Then Dhoni did some splendid achievements as a captain.He was often known as 'CAPTAIN COOL'.But now Dhoni has been giving chances only for some rubbish players.So it is very difficult to choose who is better. But there will be a turning point when Dhoni ends his captaincy.

It is difficult to say that who is the great captain of India. According to me both at their own palce as they are having their own skills. Sourav is agrressive captain while Dhoni is handling the things with a very cool mind & both are successful captain for Indian.

Nice- Question? I am afraid which way to go ? Currently Dhoni is world No.1 batsman in ODI's. Similarly Ganguly 2nd to Sachin in terms of batting heroics in ODI's and undoubtedly one of the greatest ever. In terms of Captaincy: Leading a side from one of the darkest chapter is tougher than anything else in this world. We can term that era as renaissance of Indian cricket. Do not forget this very man lead our team to the finale of 2003 ICC world cup. He was 2nd highest scorer of that tournament. Don't forget this very man lead Indian team to Team India. We beat Aussies and break their winning streak on 16 test under this very man.

Well, in my opinion, its Dhoni all the way. MS Dhoni is clever, smart and knows what he's doing. He lead the team since the inaugural T20 world cup and since then he has had a huge success. Of course yes, there might be some failures but we can't totally blame just 1 person (Dhoni) for the failure. What I like most about him is his maturity as a captain in such a short time. I mean he was still a youngster when he took over India as skipper and has done exceptionally well.

Dhoni is better in his field placements than Dada and he plays smart cricket , also he inspires players to give there best performance .Dada was more attacking captain though Dhoni handles pressure situations better, but Sourav had the quality of backing the right player like he did in case of Zaheer and Yuvraj, also he took the captaincy at tough time when Sachin resigned as captain and Kapil dev as coach .So as far as records and tactical moves Dhoni is better but Sourav took Indian cricket to completely different level much better than Azar's team which played cricket like bunnies doing time pass.So for me Sourav will always be better.

It is tough to comment, dada has completed his career as a captain, however, Dhoni is still playing. If you count the achievements on paper, Dhoni is better than Dada, however, we know that Dada was much better captain and batsman than the records say. He was the one who groomed so many talented youngesters and he gave chances to each and every player in the country. He could easily judge the players and the talent that they've got. As far as Dhoni is concerned, he has achieved so many things on paper, however, I personally feel that he does not have the ability to find out the correct players. Otherwise, he would not have given so many chances to Jadeja and Rohit Sharma.
