If no one would judge you, what would you do differently?

I would probably not have gone to college. I've always wanted to backpack around the world, and I am doing that now, but I kind of wish I used all my college years for that. I went to college because it's, apparently, the "right" thing to do nowadays.

You can still backpack around the world. There is no age restriction.

I didn't take notice of people's judgments very much when I was a young person growing up. I didn't follow my interest which is traveling into my career which now think was a shame. I left school at sixteen years old then went to a further education college for two years. There I studied Business and Finance (Shipping and Transport). Then I went to work as a children's nanny in Finland. It was the way I thought of being able to afford to travel around Europe. When I came home I got a job in a ship brokers. Sadly I was made redundant two years later. So I went off on a journey that lasted over one year. When I came back home I studied hard and became a primary school teacher. I wish I had studied Travel and Tourism and became a university or further education lecturer.

Actually nobody is judging us. It is how we feel about meeting the expectation of others.
We do have the freedom to choose what we want. I think you can still backpack round the world if you really want it.
I just hope that the employers do not place such preference for younger employees. If the employers do not take age into consideration, I think life would be more enjoyable.
In singapore context, once a person reaches the age of 40, it is hard to get a job. That is the reality of life.
