My mother is living with me and my family. When I got married, she stayed in our old house in the city. From the time my eldest child was born, she decided to stay with us until now and take good care of my kids. I am very lucky to have her by my side. My heart is at peace whenever I go to my work that time. She never hesitate to be left alone with the kids, though I know she loves to travel. Now that I am already a stay-at-home mom, she had all the time to go wherever she want to go. I love her so much.

Hi kristeena,
What a beautiful relationship you and your mother have. It is a blessing that she is and was willing to stay with your you and your family to help you take care of your children. I know that you must have felt very much at peace when you did have to leave them, before you became a stay-at-home mom.
It is rare to find such a great mother and daughter relationship. It is good to know that some mothers and daughter remain close in heart after the daughter gets married and has a family of her own.

Yes, my mom lives with us. I am grateful that my mom can help me so much, especially taking care of my child. So I can go out to work in daytime. We have a saying here: The elders are the treasures in a family. This is so true. Our parents can help us a lot, as you know today people are busy at work. At least they can help us to look after the child and sometimes prepare a meal. Otherwise I can't go out to work.
I love China

I have nothing against my mother living with me and my husband and kids someday.., I love my mother.., and I would love to take care of her just like when i was a kid.., when time comes that she will need that too.., But I hate seeing my mother being bothered with kids.., I think she had too much of us already.. i would want her to spend some vacation and relax and just enjoy her life..=)

that's what my husband tell me. it is better that the grandma takes care of your children than anybody else aside from you, like a yaya or your neighbor. He doesn't trust anyone!
but yeah, i will very much open my house to my mom and still stay with her.

Wow! That’s absolutely wonderful to note that you have such supportive mother… its always the best if we could leave our kids with the immediate family instead of a daycare. My mom doesn’t stay with me…as it is Dad is very much there and they live in our old home. As per our tradition, married girls live either with their in-laws or separately with the husband and the wife’s parents never stay with the couple. However, I am lucky in both my MIL and my own mom. My MIL actually took care of my son since he was born and now for the past few years, my mom takes care of my son. So yes, like you I too breathe easy during my office hours.

Wow. You have a really cool mom. I think I would like my mom to live with my girl and I when we get married. I don't think I would sleep well at night thinking how my mom and dad are doing. I'm really the tenacious kind of guy, kind of clingy and all, and I want my loved ones to be close to me so that we still get to spend a lot of time together and not be worried about one another. Most importantly, I want my mom to have fun with my children and I don't want her to think about anything, only her happiness.
Oh, and I wouldn't also mind if my girl's family would live with us. There would be clashes of personalities, but it's better that we're all together than live apart. We're actually thinking about getting a whole compound of townhouses for our families.
