I watched the Starz movie(mini series) called the Pillars of the Earth, based on the Kenn Follett book by the same name. I am use to the movies not following the book but in this case they followed to book but changes several very important parts of the book. They seemed never to miss a part that allowed them to show the blood and gore parts of the battle, and then completely change key points as to who murdered who and why. I found myself becoming frustrated as the producers missed key points in the book that showed the struggle between the Church and the King.
I understand that you can not take and make a movie out of a thousand page book and show all the book but to change the theme and plot of the book I feel is wrong. Do you find yourself frustrated when you go to a movie after having read the book and once beyond the title you see nothing the same?

it happens to me all the time..thats why i refuse to watch movies which were originally written on a book..there are a lot of movies which i find disappointing if u will compare it to the novels, like the firm, angels and demons,da vinci code, pelican brief, the client, the rainmaker..and so much more..so better read the book coz ur the director, actor, and producer..

I have come into a movie part way and it seems familiar only to find out I read the book and beyond the title and the names of the main characters there is very little connection to the book. When this happens you miss the true meaning of what the author was trying to say.
