Natural for filipinos....
For my non-Filipino friends, the term "crab mentality" was derived from an old Filipino folktale. In that folktale, the author describes a basket full of crabs that isn't covered. When a child asks the owner of the basket why the crabs didn't escape even if the basket was uncovered, the owner of the basket tells the child that "whenever one crab tries to make it to the top, the others pull it down"; hence, no crab ever makes it to the top.

with all what's happening now, I guess he's weak. He could not even make his men work together for the country, having a two factions fighting in his cabinet, i guess he's really weak and incapable of being the top man!

Pnoy for me is not weak....anyone who will seat at the Presidency will have a hard time solving our countrys problem.... Im more afraid of the people hes with....cabinets and advisers...Well anyway let's not put everything to Pnoys shoulder we could do our own little share... in aliviating our country's honor, and condition

for me he is weak. Since he had been in Senate, I had never hearing anything about him. I saw in television about his vacation before oath taking. He likes vacation. I don't like the way he made his decisions. However, I am still hoping that he could change the Philippines in his recent regime.

hi there.. i do agree with you, ever since he became a politician he never had any voice in the house of the senate... does any one of you ever hear him airing out his concerns? on his first 64 days as being the president he has a lot of actions that were bad examples to the filipino like being late on an appointments. He never show any concerns on the events that were happening in our country....

I don't think he is weak. Maybe he committed mistakes but it's not reasonable to judge him as early as now. This is just the beginning of his new journey and responsibilities, it's not easy to handle a country like ours who were facing lots of problems. We should support our president and give him a chance because he cannot solve all the crisis and problems on his own. We should help each other in building our nation.

I think it's still too early to say. There's this 100-day grace period for a leader to get accustomed to his newly acquired power and it's just been 64 days so he still has some time to prove his worth. I would give him more time before I conclude as to whether he's capable or not.

regrets but i do see him as a weak president. I know it is too early to judge him so. Lets just see... What i personally dont like about him is the way he finds fault on other people, like for instance PGMA, then PAGASA, then the PNP. I also say that he is weak because he has tasked VP Binay to face the HK officials. but like i said, lets just see... i am sorry if i am biased here, obviously i did not vote for him.

I have to disagree. Pnoy has only served 64 days out of his 2190 days of service as president. It seems like you already judge him without giving him the benefit of the doubt. Just like in sport, or boxing bout for example, each boxer will try to outwit and outbox his opponent. falling down occasionally is a big possibility but the judges reserve the verdict until the 12th round, as long as the boxer gets up and continue to fight. If we treat Pnoy's presidency as a boxing bout and you are the judge, it seems that you already made up your decision with 12 rounds more to go.

Surprise alright, a big fall out surprise for me. but it's not even a year yet so we can't thoroughly judge Noynoy. i think he did trust his officials and they failed him. but i think his delegation was too much, he should have intervene also, that would have changed the out come.

if he were knocked out when he was in congress or senate then he could've become president. It looks more like he moved to a higher division. And since we likened the the presidents term just like the rounds in boxing then i have to reserve my judgement after his term ends.

Well he already served 12 years (4,383) days in congress and senate. If it were boxing he had been knocked out in every round because he didn't even try to fight..

I beg to disagree. P-Noy is not weak. 64 days is too short to accurately evaluate the competence of a leader. P-Noy never came in as a superhero, nor did he ever promised to be a miraculous leader. He admits, and this we should be aware of, that it's never easy to rehabilitate the entire nation after 9 years of corrupt administration, not to mention the years before that. The problem with us Filipinos is that we never take responsibility for our share. We always put the blame on our government. Have we ever asked ourselves if we are actively contributing to the betterment of this nation? Now we have a President who doesn't conceal the real situation of our country, who performs and exhibits good leadership, and who admits mistakes... and we call him weak? I don't think so. P-Noy is just starting, and he is the best we ever had after his mom.

I voted for Gibo. But to say definitely that P-Noy is weak is not fair for him. It was unfortunate that this thing happened at all and it could have been a test for how he handles crises situations. But one fall does not mean total failure. What matters now is how he controls the damage done by the incident. Let us consider that his success in this is our success as well. as Filipinos. After all, it is not only P-Noy who is affected but Philippines.

i gibo won, i think he would have done the same thing. i don't think Gibo is better or inferior to Pnoy. not that you are comparing them, i just want to show that it was really tough for anyone to deal with that kind of situation and i don't think any one of them has the character for this kind of problem like the hostage crisis that happened.

Opinion matters but sometimes leads into false judgement. BE CAREFUL
Nowadays people tend to be I may say becoming TACKLESS
when it comes commenting personalities.
In any case:
BE OBSERVANT!
DON'T BE A SLAVE OF MISINFORMATION!
FOR ME, PNOY SHOULDN'T BE JUDGED QUICKLY DEAR.
Remember when we take into account the history of our government system and leaders and our nation, we are already faced with so many problems that no better effective and effecient solutions arise yet.
Every person has its own CREATIVE prowess when executing his/her ideas as a leader/follower. We could never easily conclude yet that if a person stands in silent he is dumb nor equivalent. Vice versa.

Pnoy, for me, is weak in leadership but he is a strong person. 64 days isn't that long for a person to suddenly be the leader of a huge country. Come to think of it, he took the presidency in a rough time. Even before he became president, the country has been facing a lot of problems. Imagine yourself as an average student then suddenly you get a lot of responsibilities all at the same time. Pnoy has been hit by problems, blow after blow after blow. Give him a chance and do your part on changing our country.

Well he is not an AVERAGE Filipino citizen. He was a SENATOR. And before that we was in Congress. So he should have anticipated what is in front of him, unless he wasn't aware

I did not say that Pnoy was an average citizen. My analogy was about the government officials as like being a school or a class. He was just a senator but I think he is aware of all the issues GMA was handling him but he never expected to handle huge unexpected problems in just 2 months.

I never really thought he would make a terrific leader. He was just a representation of something that could possibly make the Philippines better. I also never thought of him as the kind of "intelligent" that I usually associate with ideal Presidents. Where is the swift and firm decision-making? Where is the guiding hand? So far, he is weak as a President, but I'll give him a few more weeks.

yes he is weak. since the ondoy incident i know that he is weak. in a country under a very big crisis that the past administration left in his hand what we need is a strong president. there is some kind of badluck that this happen early in his administration. i still hope that he can do something to make people believe that he is a good and strong president. just my opinion.

In the first place, I've never believed He was.
Most specially when he decided to quit the debates and allowed the media to the exposing for him. some how i knew this is going to happen because he will try to be different. but i believe he would out of propaganda and not really for change. when he delegated it to cops, it proves he wants to delegate but for a price..8 lives of tourist.
well, i see him as just mere tool for others, but never weak. my mother said that

Too early to decide my friend, logically, the question is premature because it letting us decide something that we do not really know because we are lacking of information considering that we have only a little amount of time to consider. If we answer it in ' yes ' or ' no ' then our answer might be bias because we are jumping into a conclusion with out an appropriate investigation.

Well, so far he hasn't shown any strength and leadership. I won't conclusively say that he is weak. Maybe just slow. In any case, he is still in the probationary period of his new job. Let's give him 6 months to prove he's worthy of the job. LOL! He's in the job less than 3 months. I'd say that's just about within the training period. Let's let him train first. I didn't vote for him because I don't think he's fit to be president. But he won so as a citizen, I would respect that. But he has to prove himself worthy of the position. So far he hasn't proven that. But I would like to hope that 1 day he will. (really crossing my fingers on that one)

64 days is not enough to say that a certain president is evident in his regime.we must put to ourselves that in the following days our president will improve a lot.On my Part don't judge first let him prove herself that he is capable of for being president
