Geoff Lawson the former Australian player and also former coach of Pakistan quoted that money is not the only reason for involvement of Pakistan players in this match fixing if they really did the spot fixing. He mentioned an incident when he was coach , that time a player was not playing in the team but he came and informed Mr Lawson that he is playing the match , Lawson confirmed it with a selector , who told him that this player is threatened that his daughter will be kidnapped if he dosent play the match .Lawson also said that Aamer is quite dedicated towards cricket but he may not need money for himself but to buy generators for his village were people are very poor.I have deep respect for Mr Lawson and agree that he knows much more than me and many other people about Pakistan cricket team and its condition, but its hard to believe that these cricketers are victim of circumstances and there is no greed or lust for money .Talking about buying generators for his village , Aamer is Robin hood or what ? and if he wants money to help people, there are 100 more ways to do it rather than to corrupt the cricket and who can sympathize with someone like Asif who failed the dope test, was invovled in a fight with his teammate and was caught with drugs and now invovled in spot fixing .I think Lawson being a good man himself is trying to go easy on these cricketers, please share your views.
P.S.- I have deep respect for Mr.Lawson and other players of Australia and world cricket , this is neutral opinion as a cricket fan and nothing personal, thanks.

I understand the situations mentioned by Lawson. But then corruption is not the way forward for that. For e.g. Aamer had a bright future in front of him. He would have been crowned the ICC emerging superstar as he was the favorite to win that award. He would have won a lot of sponsorship deals which would have given him legitimate money. You do not betray your country and occupation to help your friends and family. That is not acceptable!!
Cheers!

Man very rightly said!!!....I totally agree with!!! there is no justification what so ever of a criminal act...!! You can not do a right thing by wrong means!!!...These cricketers earn much more than many business men here in Pakistan who work extremely hard to earn their profits. These guys live a life of a celebrity, earn millions of dollars in single series. If they want to help the poor they can do so through their legal money....!!!
And even if they don't do so !! no one is asking them to do so!!!
