I'm a graduate programmer. Currently I have a job that is off my line. And for a year and a half, I'm still in my contractual status. I want to know what languages are in-demand in companies today? (FYI, I live in the Philippines and I want to know those in-demand languages here and abroad) I want to refresh my programming skills and apply to a company that will bring out the most of my programming abilities. Thank you in advance and happy myLotting.

http://www.workabroad.ph/list_specific_jobs.php?by_what=specialization&id=24 says its E-Commerce programming and development ... It seems these include web and database programming languages such as JavaScript, AJAX ,SQL etc. What do you think?

Hi, It actually depends on what kinda programming you like. If you are into system programming then you must learn ALP, C and little bit of C++. But if you are up to application development then you should choose something higher, like .NET, JAVA, Pearl, Python etc. Each category is in demand. You can't say which one is better. Both are very very useful. I remember writing an article on this http://www.bukisa.com/articles/296969_how-to-become-a-computer-programmer where I've discussed in details what you need to know in order to be an efficient programmer. An excellent programmer not only provides solutions to just any problem but also provides the best algorithm for it. The latter is something that you develop in your way. There is only one trick for learning programming, and that is doing extensive programming itself. Thanks. God bless you
