Well Mother Nature did it. But I think that the town really wasn't as prepared as it should have been.

Not prepared? The president ordered the Mayor of New Orleans to do an evacuation when they saw that Katrina was heading that way and he refused. Also you had perfectly healthy people out there that just refused to leave their homes for no particular reason. I am sorry if there was something that big and it was on its way to come after and possibly kill me, I would be as far away as i could get.

Exactly what I'm saying. They knew it was coming and refused to leave. Not prepared. I live in Florida I go through Hurricanes all the time. If one is coming I leave.

I agree, others would argue that it was the lack of stability and strength of their local/federal governments.

Mother Nature did it. I lived in NOLA for years. Most of the people that live there, don't or rather didn't think anything like tahat could happen, guess what.
