Voting! Why Do People Do Not Vote More Than They Do??

What is your thought on the reason why people in the United States do not vote in most elections. In the previous general election more of a turnout occurred, but most of the time people tend to stay home. What do you think is the reason for that? Please share your thoughts with us.
