How do you destress?

To de-stress, some people eat chocolate, some watch their all time favourite movie while others listen to music...
Most whom I know exercise while others claim to just smoke...
I, on the other hand, go and find an over-looking place where I can see everything below. Better if the view is a vast array of green mountains with insurmountable amount of trees kissing the bright blue sky...and exhilarating fresh air
Or seat on my window pane and watch the black velvet night-sky sprinkled with twinkling stars while listening to the sound of crickets...
But if I can't find any of those, I read my Bible hehe!
What's yours?

oh i usually just do the regular eating-movie-music stuff. but on special days, i go drain my voice with karaoke (with friends of course~).
but you know what, i want to try something that uses force, if not brutal! lolXD
i'd love to try shooting~! (at an appropriate place of course) haha;)
or sports like baseball, or anything that involves use of power!
*sigh* i know i'm getting it all wrong.
de-stressing is supposed to be about rest and relaxation.
after i graduate, i'll go somewhere peaceful and quiet to relieve myself of all the negative energy i have accumulated in college. hahaXD
nature-tripping~~~^_^

If you like to try something with force I'm thinking why not try kick-boxing, airsoft or paintball. I'd like to try those! Not only will you really use power but you get to socialize as well.
Well de-stressing is to actually take if not all, some of the stress away, so anything that would give you a sense of fun or any other positive mood rather than stress is de-stressing.
Good luck with your studies...I'm also studying, well reviewing...that's why I also feel stressed out most of the times.
Nature tripping is a big check on my list! Hehe!

The only way I could effectively de-stress is by sleeping. I find sleeping a great way for me to stop thinking about things that are clearly out of my control. Though sometimes, I end up over sleeping and couldn't sleep at night anymore.
Now that I am facing an emotional turmoil, I can't help but feel weak all the time, most especially since I really can't do anything about it. The one thing that just is weird about all the sleep I am doing is the fact that somehow I don't really feel that I have slept. I end up sleeping almost all of the time (at least the time that I have to spare after work) but still feel tired after.

That happens to me too. That is why I choose to de-stress awake first and then sleep. I try to avoid going to sleep when I'm emotionally stressed out coz I might not want to wake up anymore hehe! It feels like I have to drag myself through the day and the feeling is not really what I want to feel at all!
You should try other ways to de-stress as well. Maybe have a chat with your bestfriend and just talk and laugh. Try to remember how it felt when you were a kid. Be silly and without a care in the world. I do that sometimes! :)
If you really have to be alone, try Yoga :)

Really it is a good course to read bible or any other religious text depending upon one's religion. The other thing is looking at the nature which is very beautiful. There is a technic which is really good . That is meditation which really gives good relief from stress.

As we move through our daily routines we are often face with obstacles & challenges which can lead to some degree of stress & anxiety. So to become more relaxed & free from tension it is important to break away from our ordinary routine. I dont do too many things at a time because it can overload me & can increase the stress.I avoid people who are rude, hostile or aggrssive. I drink coffee or tea to make myself destressed.

If something depressed me,first I will stop the job at band and do nothing for a while until I am fully calm down. Then I will think about something I have done quite well before which may make me happy again.According to the theory of traditional Chinese medical science, happiness will defeat stress. Also, this method can encourage me to move on.Sometimes I will see movies, listen to the music to relax for a while. But escape never be a good way.

It's like gathering all your senses together to produce a more positive energy that can help you do things calmly so it won't really get you all stressed out. I also agree with the Chineses med science. most of the time if you do something, you do it happily so the task won't be heavy on you, therefore; less stress...
If escape as in running away from everything stressing you out, it is really not the good way to destress....but an escape for you to relax and see the positive side of things can help to destress :)

I like to do things that should be done that has been set aside for something else. Or I just sit on my deck and look over my gardens, flowers, and water ponds and just listen to the birds and other critters that roam around the fields. love the country

Hello. How are you ? My long days at work get very stressful indeed. If I get back home early enough, I would go out to the park near my home and go jogging. That is relaxing and good for health as an excersize. Otherwise, if it is very late by the time I am back home, I would stretch out on the couch and listen to my favorite music CDs. Calssical music is mu choice, very enchanting, and very relaxing, helps getting rid of the stresses of the day !

I do a couple of things to distress myself one would be playing and online game I transfer my negative energy into killing monster in the game. I also watch either a very funny movie, my favorite sitcom or cartoon just to absorb some positive energy from those sets me back to course but the simplest way for me is to lock myself for less than hour and i would either listen to a music or just listened to the silence and reflect and power up myself.

When work in the office is so stressful, I just go to the nearest shopping mall and walk, walk and walk, sometimes I go to the basilica church and sat quietly and peacefully, pray.

I have been learning about mindfulness and meditation. Mindfulness is taken from buddhist practice of concentrating on your breathing and on your five senses so taking in the world around you and concentrating on the here and now. Coupling that with guided meditation to help take the mind away from worrying thoughts and help with the positive ones.

I destress by walking. Taking a long stroll, down the streets, quiet street if possible. So that i'm allowed the time, and space to really think, to relax as well as settle down. In a noisy environment, it will only add on to my current stress, thus it's important for me to have peace.
Watching of movie is a no no for me, because of all the talking, sounds that will irritate me further. I would like a listening ear to hear my problems, but i don't want the other party to talk, or don't want to see them, only to feel their presence.
