Do you trust CashGopher??

I have not signed up for CashGopher yet, but I think that it is shady how you have to install software on your computer. It said that the program sends information/results back to the "Mother Gopher", but couldn't this be seen as an invasion of privacy?? I'm not going to take the risk, who knows what the program could be doing with the personal information (or information in general) on your computer... I'm better off keeping my computer safe and secure than opening it up to strange programs to make a few pennys!
What do you think??

I just installed the "CASH GOPHER" it seems to me as like my my-lot account informer.
My anti-virus does not select it as a virus or spy-ware when it is installed, in this case I thing it is not bad, u can try it

Hmmm... If the anti-virus doesn't pick it up as a virus, then so far so good. I just don't really think it would be a virus, more of just an invasion of personal privacy.
I guess time will have to tell about what the program actually does and how it pays out! Feedback as time goes on will be interesting..

I installed the program and a few hours later ran a virus scan, a registry check, and a spyware scan and nothing has shown up.
In fact, when I downloaded and installed it, if it had a virus, it would have shown up immediately with a virus alert on my virus program, which it didn't.
So far so good, I haven't had any problems with it. It's worth the chance, after all, it's from myLot, and they have more personal information than Cash Gopher does.
I don't see why they would risk any privacy complaints by using your personal information for personal gain.

Yes you are right. I think it is virus free. It is not harmful for your computer. Just it will capture some hard disk's space only.

It would be nice if there was more of a disclosure of what is being sent back in specific. I have heard of other programs that process data for other companies somthing along the lines of the seti project a few years ago.
With that said I will be reading as much as I can on Cash Gopher and what it does in spefific...but I would say I am willing to give it a try.
There is only one hitch in my case... I use a linux system and their download does not seem to run on the windows emulator. So I will be in contact with support to see if there is a way.

Yes, I do think that it would be very nice if they could tell what specifically was going to be sent, and what kind of tests and results and all that.
Maybe if I had an extra computer that I used for the Internet I would try it, but I don't really want to download it and use it on my main computer...

why would cashgopher be a virus? MyLot would be in some serious trouble if it was. Anyways, it appears clean on my virus scan, so there should be no worries.

Well, I installed it today and immediately ran a spyware scan which came up negative. Of course, that may just because the anti spy program provider has not evaluated it as yet, so I'll run another scan in a week or so.
That apart, I think that I'll give it months trial to see just how much revenue it will generate in that time and also to see if any problems occur. That seems to be a fair evaluation period.
So far, so good.

I will wait and see how it works for other people. If that means I miss out on a couple of bucks I might have earned, so be it. I do not like the idea of installing a program that will use my computer to do whatever it does. Years ago (Windows 95!) I signed up for SETI and let it operate when my computer was idle. That was a different situation. This whole idea makes me uneasy and I am going to pass it up, at least for now.

Same here, when I see that it will send certain data from our computer to Mother Gopher, I completely drop my thoughts on signing up.
I can't find enough information on what kind of data that will be retrieved from our computer and how does the earnings works. I think for now, I will stick to mylot first.

I do not think that Cash Gopher is a virus. And if you don't like it, you can uninstall it from your control panel. if Cash Gopher was a virus it wouldn't have let me install it on my PC because my virus scanner catches everything, but I will let you know if I actually get paid.

I'm not really considering it a virus, I'm considering it more of a privacy invader due to us not really knowing what it is sending back to the "mother gopher".
I know that some other kinds of websites (for example, survey websites) have you install software, and I'm just kind of wary of installing any kind of software that lets others do things with my computer -- even if it isn't a "virus" and you get paid for using it...
It's a personal choice, and I'm choosing not to use it. But let me know if everything goes well for you! :)

I do not trust cash gopher at all. Firstly, for all i know, it sends some of my documents to people i dont know. Furthermore, it will knacker out your pc, it will ruin it, and reduce its performance (fact, despite they say it will only work when idle, take a look at virus scans. So many claim to not have an effect, ive yet to use one that doesnt).
Whats more, its a brand new software, and blogs on here have talked about people having problems running them.
Then there is the case of not being told how much you earn (this really annoys me about mylot). So for all you know, you will spend more in the electricity and stolen identity it takes to run the computer than you get back.
Whats more, its likely to use up a lot of internet, so in a house like mine, it would mean someone somewhere else in the house may have connection issues as a result!
I might have considered it if i had an old laptop or something, but not on this laptop!

I sort of trust Cash Gopher, I got $0.20 worth of earning today. But I'll definitely see how long it actually takes me to reach payout. I'll write a review about it eventually. Still a little iffy about it, but I'll just see how it goes until I reach payout.

You can disable the popups, it's under the CashGopher toolbar, and just stick with the system is idle strategy. I'm going to test that strategy for a couple days and see how it goes.

i'm not going to sign up on it that's for sure.. after i've read that i have to download and install some software and then that program will send some info to some people i don't know or some company while my pc is idle. its just weird concept. i'll stick with mylot or online job sites(legit) even if cashgroper came from mylot . i don't think i will be able to trust it.
