Do you want to win the lottery?

In the past, in answer to my own question I would have said, "Sure, but it won't happen because I don't waste my hard earned money on gambling on the lottery." Well, things have a way of changing, so again I think, never say never. This past week the number 111 has been jumping out at me all over the place. My email inbox has been 111 several times a day, even after dealing with and deleting emails, it will pop in again at that number. Night before last as I was getting ready to shut down the computer, I glanced at the computer clock -- 1:11am. Yesterday afternoon, my roomie says fromj the kitchen, "Guess what time it is on the stove clock?" Yep, 1:11! So today I played the pick three, using my numbers 111, so I do hope I win this small lottery -- wish me luck!
How about you? Do you play the lottery? The pick three, or lotteries other than the big jackpots? Have you ever won anything or are you behind in what you spend versus win?

Thanks Coco. I didn't win and it will be years before I try again. I very rarely spend money on lottery.

Very occasionally I will go in with my family and we will play the powerball, but we've never won anything. However, it is a lot easier to play $.25 every now and then as opposed to being addicted to it. Do I ever think that I will win the lottery? Odds are not in my favor, but it would be a great thing to win and I've spent the money in my head a ton of times. I try not to get too involved in gambling because I really can't afford to lose a bunch of money.

I agree with you totally. And this not being a winning play reinforces why I don't play very often.

I agree, it is absolutely for entertainment, as well as a rarity for me.

i'd like to win more than a dollar here or a dollar there on scratch offs. years ago, my husband won $100 and a few weeks later, so did i. but it's been years since we've won anyting besides a couple bucks here and there.

Of course everybody want to win in a lottery..that could be instant money with so little effort and little amount of money to spend. But the reality is hard to digest that some people who play lottery for years never wins. But there are those who are lucky enough who only play once or five times and win. It's a bit unfair to others who invested a longer time.
I think playing lottery is a stroke of luck. Maybe there is a secret or something but we could never understand how and why. Lottery is a wishful dream a fantastic illusions that can be addicting if you are not being careful.

I guess somebody has to win, but it probably won't be me, as I buy a lottery ticket about once every half dozen years. So no worries about me becoming addicted.

Well, you have a better chance of winning than I, as this was my contribution to the lottery for this year..:-)

I'm seriously thinking of playing the lottery,I've seen the people who play the lottery. They're just like me and I can't tell you how great it would be to win. I could finally have my own life, I'd be completely out of debt. You don't how great that would be.

Actually, I understand exactly how great it would feel to be out of debt and financially free. However, I don't consider that the only thing life-sustaining. I feel I have a life, wealthy or not.

Who does not love easy money.Every one including me want to become rich overnight by a lottery. That is only way one expect unexpected wealth.OK. But one or two do have such luck. Not many. I spent but never won.Man lives on hope.Without hope no one survives in any walk of life.As you said sometime some intuition gives clue but that is not always the case. In your case something has been prompting to buy a lottery tick and we the members of mylot pray that you win the lottery and be happy. By the way will you share something with me for wishing you good luck.

I did play the lottery when it was first introduced here in South Africa but realized that it was nothing more than gambling. Being a mother of two very young boys, one would like to set values systems that will benefit them when they are grown. You would want to teach them never to depend on luck but on grabbing every ounce of opportunities that come their way. I do wish you luck but I am sure the number 111 is significant to some other part of your life. DIG DEEPER!!! AND GOOD LUCK

You are right that it is gambling and not a good example for our children. And you must be right about the 111, as it wasn't a winning number and it still pops up! I had 111 emails in my inbox again this morning, and my Swagbucks points were 111 this morning, gheesh! It dawned on me immediately upon reading your response that 1/11 is my son's birthday, so maybe it has something to do with him???

I do not play the lottery, never even have an urge to. I also never have a number get stuck around me, so maybe I would do so in your shoes. Someone has to win, right? Hubby always says he just regards it as a donation if he plays. LOL

Yes, and it would be fun if I am that someone! I agree with your husband and I'm sure I probably just donated, but I don't mind since it's been years and years since I spent anything on lottery.

I play the lottery on occasion, but not all the time.
When new scratch tickets come out, I do try to play them, as there's more chances to win early on, when the game is new.
However, I don't always play the weekly type lotteries because it's extremely rare to win them.
I had numbers given to me once, someone claimed that they'd win me big money, but when the draw took place, not even one of the numbers was drawn.
I've even dreamed of numbers, but still nothing has won me anything.
I've spent so much money on lotteries, I have no idea how much, and I'm not going to waste more of my hard earned money.

I hear you Kris. I worked with a gal once that spent every dollar she made on scratch-offs, it was horrible to see her working so hard and nothing to show for it. I heard she won big awhile back on a scratch-off but is broke and back to playing them again.
And I can tell you whether I win or not it will be ages before I play anything lottery again. I hope, if nothing else, the 111 thing stops showing up around me!

I'm sure whatever the total of winnings are in the lottery wouldn't come close to how much buying all these tickets. The biggest I won was I think was $120, and that was so long ago I couldn't even remember what year it was. Recently, I checked 9 tickets that had been accumulating in my wallet. Each ticket was $6. So it was about $54.
I won in 2 of the tickets. One was for $20, and the other is for $1. It hardly seems worth it.
Yet, I keep buying those darn things!

Hahaha on you keep buying those darn things! That's the way my co-worker was, she'd have real quick spent that $21 on more tickets, convincing herself maybe she'd get her original money back or hit the jackpot.

I've been to a casino only once in my life, it seems the same to me as playing the lottery, both gobble up money if we let them.

yes, because i realized that you don't really win without spending a penny,,, ^^ and the more you spend, the more chances of winning, but your loss is greater at most times,,, ^^
