KENNER, La. -- American flags and yellow ribbons adorn the Bovia house on Platt Drive in Kenner.
Tuesday night, Herbert and Teresa Bovia got the news all military parents fear - their son Joseph was killed in action.
The 24-year-old Marine sergeant died in a shoot-out in Marjah, a town in southern Afghanistan.

This young man went to school with my daughter. She's really upset by this.
I thought the war was over! Why are we still there? Why can't our boys just come home and let these people kill each other if they want?
He was 24 YRS OLD!

The war isn't over. Only the combat mission in Iraq. We will still have people there training under New Dawn.....sounds like a Stephenie Meyer book lol The fighting is in Afghanistan right now. Soft date to start pulling out of there in next summer, supposedly ending everything by 2012...I was they'd do it by the end of this year. We shouldn't be there wasting our lives and money on a political war.
