Do you lie about your age?

There could've been times that you lie about your age or people mistaken you for someone either older or younger than you actually are.
We have our reasons to lie about our age, we might be just a year younger but we just can't wait to get in that club or watch that movie. We don't want to be left out. Or we just want to be seen as someone mature enough.
Age has somehow become a delicate matter too, because we don't want people to tell us we are old, we minus a few years to it.
Then there are times that people just mistaken us for an age we are not. Being mistaken to be someone younger would be flattering and we just ride on to it. Being mistaken older or having our old age guessed correctly makes as feel bad and just have to correct them or take a few years off.
I wonder how many of us have these sort of experiences? As for me, I've been mistaken to be someone younger, i guess it's because i'm of slender built unlike my cousins.

I have lied several times about my age. Most of the time like most people to make me older. When I was 16 I told some guys that I met trying to meet Nsync that I was 18 years old. Mostly because I was by myself and I wanted to seem less vulnerable. I don't know if they believed me or not, but they ended being nice despite they were 'professional autograph seekers' because they told me to sell some stuff I made on eBay after getting it signed. But that was probably the last time I lied about my age.
Sometimes, people think I'm still a teen. I don't mind too much but I don't know if it's flattery or not. It's mostly my voice. When answering the phone I'd get the "Is your mommy or daddy home?" I don't know what to say and I just hang up because they're mostly telemarketers.

Nope! I am very proud to be a half a century! Thank you! But my auntie always said she was 50. She started in her 30's. she said that way people always told you how good she looked!then by the time she was 50 everyone was used to it! including herself! But the other day when I was talking to her she said she'll be 95 this year, so I guess she got over it!

Hi,
I hardly lie. Age will be the last thing that I would lie about. Suppression of information regarding one's age actually originates from lack of self esteem. Such people takes the short cut to impress others. Age is indeed a delicate matter, but the way one handles it says lot of things about one's psychology. Thanks.
God bless you.
By the way, you have a wonderful avatar.

I certainly don't lie about my age. In fact i'm proud of it. when someone asks me about it, I answered directly that i'm 22. It's not something you should be ashamed off if you're not doing anything wrong. But i'm not despising others who lied about their age. Maybe they lied for a greater purpose because for work especially if they are still minors. Truly I understand them. But it is so much flattering when someone will tell you that you look younger than your age and so embarrassing if its the other way around.

I'm 22 years of age. I am proud of my age. I don't really have a reason to lie about my age. I don't think that age is something to be ashamed of. I can understand why some people might be ashamed of their age, but it's not something that I am ashamed of or anything like that.

I have never lied about my age. People usually guess my age right or they are off by one year.
I like letting people figure it out by themselves.
I have accidentally thought people were older than they were. But if someone ever asks me to guess their age I try to say a low number so they don't get offended.
Have a great day sjhaeki!

I don't lie about my age. Its okay if they think I am younger or older than I look. Not really a big deal. I just don't understand people who lie about their age. We all age eventually so no use hiding it.

Children always wish to grow up as fast as they can, but adults always want become younger and younger, and I am always want to become younger than now. so, enjoy your life and always think life is beautiful can help you to become younger, think about positive things. nice to meet you.

During highschool, people always thought I looked older. I do feel flattered about it, it gives me a sense of power. Once a guy asked me if I could buy him a 18+ game at the store (I was in 10th grade at the time). I didn't buy the game but I still feel good about looking older than I really am. But that feeling will probably lose it's touch once I experience my first midlife crisis

haha... i guess you'd experience your first midlife crisis if there's something you've missed out in your younger years and you'd want to experience it. i read that if you think you've lived a fruitful and satisfactory youth then you won't have to worry much about midlife crisis. ^_^
