What do you do when you cant sleep?

tired mentally and physically will give some sort of fatigue, and one should fall asleep out of the tiredness. But, if you are WORRIED and ANXIOUS, .. it will give the opposite effect. One cannot sleep, when anxious, and this leads to increased blood-pressure, and other ailments, in the long run.
If it is me, I would do some urgent sit-ups and push-ups, to create a diversion to the mind and body. I will then have a fresh hot shower bath. Usually, a hot shower relaxes the muscles, and gives a soothing effect to the body, hence the mind relaxes and one will be able to sleep comfortably.
Still, to be on the safe side, I will eat light, and then, SIT relaxed in an easy chair near my bed, and meditate, .. concentrating only on the rhythm of my breathing.
if even this fails, I will pull out one of the HARD BOUNDS on PSYCHOLOGY and STATISTICS... and pour over them. If i fall asleep, very good.. I not, even more good, because... I learn from the reading.

insomia?? like my other friends to the other site?
anyway if you can't sleep, try to drink warm milk or chocolate.
make yourself busy in the morning by going to the gym, play some soft, soothing music that will lull you to sleep, take a warm bath also

============= NOW, ... did you ever hear of MYLOT-O-CRAVIA, .. the craving to be on mylot, and keep oneself busy with topics on mylot, for ever, without even going out for the bathroom, washroom, or even eat, drink and sleep? ..
our friend here seems to have just caught up with mylotocravia. lols.

I usually find that I can't sleep when I have something on my mind that i want to do, so what usually remedies that is that I'll go do whatever it is I need to do or want to do and then find I can go to sleep.

All what you have to do is to relax. If you can't sleep that means that there is a reason which enables you to do so. You are probably thinking of something or anoyed by a problem or a person .. anyway, try to clear up your mind, and avoid all tools of distraction (TV, computer, Video games, DVD palyer ..).Do not eat food that may make you more attentioned and awake like coffee or tee.And finaly, it would be better if you practice a physical activity before you want to go to bed, it helps your body to relief negative energie.

I f you can't sleep then get a book and try reading. This is the most effective way of getting to sleep. Try it.

i will just go to bed and think that i am sinking in the mattress. and then clear my mind after that, i fall asleep!
to drift off to sleep fast have a warm bath. and then turn off your computer!!!!
then go to bed/
