The intonation in voice

When watch Forrest Gump speak on the screen, I feel how Tom Hanks managed that gutteral voice which was consistent throughout the movie, I believe the way he spoke mattered very much to the success of the movie. I complemented perfectly with the storyline. Have you felt so?
