Was Jesus a god or a man?

Some says Jesus was God others says Man. Some refer to the triology of father, the son and the holy spirit. Some says that they were one and the same. Some say they were seperate. What are your thoughts? Was Jesus just a man who happened to be an excuse for people to believe in someone or was he godsend?

This is really very interesting question and the answer is, it depends. If you feel comfortable considering Jesus as God, then He was God indeed. If it is the manhood that you think is more respectable, then Man he was. What if I say a God like man, or a man like God? Will you believe me? It's all what you believe.

Hi dear, It is an ever ending topic and many have to say lot of things about. We are telling about what we are learned and studied. Being not a Christian, I know more about him through various ways. We, as a human being may live for 70-80 years or maximum few more years also. But to learn and understand about the God is not enough and what we understand is not from our direct experience but from other mouths and books only. The story follows. It is a period of 2000 years and we know the life of the earth how much is. So make relationships and study well the facts. You will reach some conclusion and that is your answer for your questions. There may be millions and millions of answers to your only one question. He himself have mentioned that your faith will save you. So it is that much only. You do whatever and tell whatever, it ends up whenever you disappears from the earth. So, for our own satisfaction, we can get conclusions in our own way. It can be true and may not be also. Here there is no body to answer as Yes, or No. We learned the things in such a way that as it is. There may be people who are not even heard of Him. For those people who he is? If 2+2=4, we learned it is 4 in such a combination, if you say 2+2=5, we say it is wrong. Because we had the formation, derivation, and all answers that 2+2=4 only nothing else. For an illiterate person 2 and 4 are nothing and he don't know what is what. When we study that 2=2=4, then only we know the value of 2. As we learned and accept the sum is 4, we agree with that. Other than 4, all other figures are 'not correct' for us. Here also, the matter is some what like that only. If we learned that 4 is the answer, nothing can beat it. And if we are not heard about 2 or 4, it doesn't mean that 2 and 4 are not there. So don't be panic, the time what we have is good enough and our conclusions will end up with us. Regards, Thank-s

superb, yeah we need not to be a christian to love Jesus. You know i am from orthodox Hindu family (Brahmins) but i am big fan of Jesus. Though Jesus lived for few years but his miracles and his deeds are wonderful. I feel he is a perfect angle/man in this earth ever born so far. God bless you.

Hi Jotomy, Thanks for your comment. Even though it is unfair to keep the math. relation on a page where Jesus’ name is appeared. Because, whatever may be, from the very child hood to an age of grown up, I have heard about and there is a place for him in my mind. May be in the form of God or as in the form of human being, the preaching and his principles if we follow, that is more than enough to lead a peaceful life in this earth. Some of his words are remarkable and deep root in our hearts if we understand the meaning. It is beyond time and has the power to footprints in our hearts. I think to love Jesus; we need not be a Christian. But in such places, we can easily understand the relationships. However, thank you so much for your best post remark. Good wishes, Thank-s

This is a question that involves faith when you answer. If you will be asking Christians well of course they will say Jesus is (and not was) a God. But if you will be asking other religions, well of course you will get a different answer. It is like asking, Is Allah a god? or Is Buddha a God also? This is a kind of question that you should already know the answer and yet people like PriscaJoanne10 is still asking. Well maybe you don't believe in god if you ask this.

Jesus never existed. There is no historical proof of his existence. Writers of the time did not mention him, even those who lived near him and dealt specifically with Jewish culture. He was a made up character to help sell a new religion.

I spent a year looking back in history of His time and couldn't find a trace of Him, but belief kill and belief cure.

Incorrect, the historical evidence of his existence is better than that for many other historical figures, few serious scholars have doubted his existence. all the best urban

Your such a good christian aren't you buddy. Maybe you ought to go read the bible yourself instead of listening to whatever some pastor tells you that it says and maybe you wouldn't be such a jerk. Be careful who you try to put a curse on it might come back at you seven fold.

Hi, PriscaJoanne10. He is a man that was godsend by God himself. Jesus walked this very same earth many centuries ago. He was a a miracle worker. God's heart and spirit lived within his soul.

My belief is that Jesus was a man who was very spiritually advanced and his reason for being on earth may have been to guide the people to a more peaceful existence. I am not so sure if He came here as the son of God as depicted in the Bible that may well be true. He was just a man while He lived on this planet and I like to believe that now He is a great spiritual entity that is still guiding us thorough life.

I would say Jesus is an aspect of God. I'm not born a Christian, so I don't know a lot about Jesus. But then I'm very sure there is only one God, and Jesus is a representation of God's omnipresence in this world, just like any other deities in other religions.

Jesus is God's only son, he is God himself in a form of a man, when he went back to heaven he sent us the Holy Spirit to watch over us all the time. That is why you hear people saying God is 3 in one because there's God, The Son and the Holy Spirit. I'm a born again Christiation and i love my God to bits. he did all this for all us, me and you. Its worth to be appreciated all the days of our lives. I hope i have answered your question.

it's not for me to say or judge... other people can say whatever they want on whether jesus is god or man and i surely will respect it... that's the mystery and magic of faith, if i may...

Jesus is the son of God. He is a man that sacrificed everything just to save us. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, he suffered, was crucified because of the love of God.

Come to think of your question, i do not really know what i think about Jesus. I am very touched by him as a person and enjoy his stories from the bible. I have really given that much thought to the Trilogy. I basically feel that there is lot more going on in this world that we do not understand and hence we need to keep in touch wihtout spiritual self. By which i do not mean you got to convert poeple into your religion or preach the bible to everyone, instead just practice the 10 commandments would be a good start.

At the time the biblical account is set the Romans were in control of Israel. The jews believed and still do that one day a messiah would come. At the time there were a number of men claiming to be the messiah and no doubt Jesus was one of them. The difference with Jesus was that his followers did believe he was the true messiah and formed a jewish sect. It remained jewish sect until Paul came along and if you believe the story about the road to Damascas came to believe that Jesus was the true Messiah. He took control of the group and started to open it up to non jews and started the process by which christianity became a world religion. there is no direct evidence that Jesus actually existed or that if he did he was anything other than a radical jewish preacher. All the stuff about the trilogy etc is one of the many things made up by priests for many differerent reasons mostly, one suspects, political

The answer to whether Jesus Christ was God or man depends on whether one believes that the bible is the word of God or just another book. I believe that the bible is the the word of God, and it says that Jesus was fully God and fully man.

He was neither god nor man. He was a myth borrowed from other characters of nearby cultures. so there is no point in debating over if he was this or that.

Jesus is God the Son. God the Father sent Him to this world to redeem the sins of Man. He came to earth as a human as stated in the Holy Bible. John 1:1 :- In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God. The Word was God. John 1:14 The Word became Flesh and dwelt among us. So Jesus is the Son of God or God the Son who was sent to earth to live as a human being. In other words God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are One and called Triune. God bless you.

I don't believe that GOD & Jesus is one an the same b/c in the book of Genesis 1:26 states; GOD said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Notice it says, "Let US make man in OUR IMAGE" tells us that GOD & Jesus ARE TWO SEPARATE BEINGS! Another example in Matthew 26:39 reads; Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed,"My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." Noe I ask U what Divine Almighty GOD would need to pray to himself for mercy?!

I believe that Jesus is God that was sent by God the Father here on our earth to free the sinners from sin. Because God the Father loves our world and His creations and He gave His only Son just to save us from committing sins. Yes they are three; God the Father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Son and that is Jesus ruled into one. Yes Jesus became Man and this way it would be easy for us to associate with Him.
