Speed limits here are mostly set by the individual towns and cities...on state highways the state may set these limits. there is no national speed limit with the exception of interstate highways (which have limits of 65 miles per hour - minimum speed 4o miles per hour) as motor vehicle law really is not an area designated to our federal government. In my state, major highways are usually either 50 or 55 miles per hour. On rural residential roads it is usually between 40-45 miles per hour. In town residential roads and business districts are normally 30 or 35 miles per hour. Some smaller residential roads can be as low as 25 miles per hour.
