Sure, I've gone to a movie alone lots of times. I still enjoy the movie. Actually sometimes it's better alone than having someone talk to me during the whole thing!

I agree with macdingolinger. Sometime it is very boring watching a movie alone and sometime it is quite disturbing. Most of the times I was accompanied by my friends or family members. I preferred to take them with me otherwise I had to tell the whole story to them.

I kinda like it both ways. It's cool to go with someone or to go alone. I just enjoy going to the movie period! And actually if I wait until I have someone to go with I might not ever get to go! lol!

If I don't have company to go see a Movie I want to see,I won't let that put Me off,I'll go anyway! One time,I went on my own and discovered I had the (small) cinema to myself,so it was like I had a private cinema..no distractions around Me to take me away from the movie..was great!

I think it might be a little uncomfortable to be completely alone, but it would be nice and quiet.

Nope. I prefer watching with someone - it is boring to have no one to talk to in the movie house or talk about the plot and characters after the movie ended. Plus, its fun to scream or laugh when someone is with you.

Yes, I have gone to quite a few movies by myself. I actually really enjoy doing that. I usually go to see movies that are tailored toward women. The most recent movie I went to see by myself was Eat, Pray, Love. I thought this movie was going to be very spiritual and that it would touch me. The other movie I remember going to see was PS: I Love You. I cried and cried during that movie. I'm not sure why I enjoy going by myself. I think I just enjoy some alone time every once in a while.

I stopped going to the movies a while ago due to lack of time really and my husband and I rent off Netflix. I know many people are scared to go alone as people would think of them as "losers" but I don't see whats wrong with it. If one wants to go and nobody else does they should go.

Not in years. I almost went to a movie today. My kids are all in school right now and a local movie theater has $5 movies before 12:00 PM the only problem was they didn't have any movies before 12 what a scam. When I was about 13 years old my parents used to drop me off at a nearby mall and I would shop and then go and see a movie at the mall. I used to love doing that. I liked to go there with friends too but going alone was a nice and different experience, I could go in the stores I wanted to go to, and I could go to what ever movie I wanted to and eat what I wanted to eat without being judged or anything.

I used to feel uncomfortable going to the movies or to a restaurant alone but I'm past it. I enjoy the movie or a good meal just as much or even more than if I was with someone. If you're eating out, it gives you a chance to concentrate on the food instead of the conversation. In terms of the movies, my husband is always asking me questions throughout the movie and I sometimes lose pieces of the storyline or a conversation as a result.

I just did that 2 days ago. I had to be in a certain area before work and decided to watch a movie. Sometimes I enjoy it because you just want to enjoy the movie by yourself. No need to pretend or what and sometimes I make it my alone time. I let stress off by watching a movie either in the movie house or just at home by yourself.

I did once and it was not bad actually. Although perhaps I would have laughed harder if there were friends along as it really was a good movie.
But not bad going alone, I may just do so again someday.

yes i have once. I was in school and my neighbours wanted to go for circus and i wanted to watch a movie. They forced me to accompany them and i wanted company for the movie. But as majority wins...i had no company and had to go for the movie alone.

I did. and it was pretty terrifying. Maybe I'm just paranoid about it but when I went to the movie alone, there were two guys who sat near me . I can just feel their urge to come near and its like their planning something against me; to rob me maybe? Even though the movie hasn't finished yet, I was also terrified with the two guys. I just had to go out. It was like a breathe of fresh air. Call me paranoid but those two guys really look pretty suspicious. Anyway, lesson learned. Its not that safe to go to the movies alone especially girls.

I have gone to the movies alone. Well actually my parents went to see another movie while I go watch Pokemon movie. I was like 15 years old if I remember correctly. At first it was a scary moment since I've never watched a movie alone in a movie theater, but then I calmed myself down and enjoyed the movie. I always go to the movies with someone. Though if there was a movie I wanted to see and no one wanted to go, I'll go watch it myself then.

Most of the time I watched movie just by myself. Why? its because I wanted to understand the story clearly unlike if you have someone besides you who keeps on taking and asking questions. (except for the kids, I love them when they ask so many questions)
If the movie has a great story line even if you're alone you'll enjoy it, but if the movie sucks you'll just wish you have someone to talk to inside the cinema.
