I know exercise is one of the options, but I know that. Tell me if there are ways other than exercise and taking pills or tablets.

Well, you should never trust a pill to be your magical key to weight loss. You could go on a crash diet - I mean a fad diet (lol), like the Cabbage Soup diet, a raw fast, a water fast, or even something like the General Motors diet. A lot of the weight you'll lose with these kinds of diets is water weight, but you will still lose regardless if you don't cheat and stick to your plan. It's hard though - almost impossible, and you have to deal with being hungry pretty much 24/7. So I wouldn't suggest it. Long-term life-long plans are much better, more safe, and will help you keep off the weight you lose.

If you lose weight quickly, it is likely that you won't keep it off. To lose weight permanently and safely, you should aim for no more than 1-2 lbs per week. I've been on every diet in the world and to lose weight fairly quickly, I restrict carbs. I finally learned that there is only one way to lose weight permanently and that is thorugh portion control and a permanent change to eating habits. I also exercise for at least 30 minutes a day and use weight training exercises for 15 minutes a day. Muscle burns more calories than fat and will aid in keeping you healthy throughout your life. It's a simple equation of calories in have to be less than calories out.
