A pleasant day to all,
I am just curious if you also drink and take coffee even it is already late at night. I have a friend, who does not bother if it is already late at night, and that, she still loves to drink a coffee. Though some are telling her that, dont take coffee at night because it will cause you a difficulty in sleeping. According to her, this is not true, hence, she does not encounter any difficulty in sleeping though she have taken a cup of coffee.
How about you, do you believe that taking a coffee during late at night will cause you some difficulty in sleeping? Do you still drink coffee even its late at night?

I agree coffee keeps me up. Yet, when I was in college, I would
drink coffee, and still be too sleepy to get all of my work down
late nights. :)
A new study states that one cup a day keeps the vessels open, therefore
coffee is good for the heart now. The research states that one cup a day
will allow you to live well into your 90s.
I was going to keep the habit, but now I will stick to my one cup a day.
:)

Good to hear that too, that one cup a day will allow coffee drinkers to live well up to their 90s.
And for me, you are right on your decision - to stick on to your one cup of coffee a day.

I am a coffee lover but I rarely drink coffee late at night and I don't believe it will cause some difficulty in sleeping. What keeps you awake is the degree of hotness the coffee brings which gives you a warm feeling that releases your sweat.

I usually have no trouble drinking coffee late at night, then going to sleep. I don't drink coffee all the time, but it normally does not keep me awake. I have had jobs over the years where I was working odd hours at times, and I drank a lot of coffee while working at those places, so I guess I built up a tolerance to it over the years. I have to drink a lot of coffee for it to keep me awake at night...

I think it all depends on what you are used too. I don't drink coffee usually but I drink drpepper, not as much caffeine but some. And I drink it before bed also. But I do everyday so I can still sleep fine. Now if I drink coffee it's harder, like sometimes I like those iced frappe things. I had one one night before bed and I had to stay up and watch tv for a while. But if she drinks it every night before bed her body is probably used to it.

Well, I'm sort of different from the norm in this area. My mom LOVES caffeine, especially in the form of coffee. Because of this, I had coffee and Coke in baby bottles when I was about a year to a year and a half old (I'm a little uncertain on exact age). I always drank coffee growing up, granted it was very watered down with milk and sugar. Therefore, I NEED coffee to stay awake. If I don't have caffeine for too long, I'll get a headache. But caffeine gives me no EXTRA energy boost. I can drink it before bed and still fall asleep fine.

Wow that is interesting, in your baby bottle. My kids had a lot of drpepper in the womb, but no more until they were at least 1 or 2 years old lol.

i think this is case to case basis. i know some person use coffee while they were studying because for them coffee will cause some difficulty in sleeping. but my former classmate said that coffee will give initial reaction then after a while he can easily go to sleep. Base from my school days experience, i use coffee when i am studying so many lessons. but today, I use coffee because i want to sleep. i feel sleepy after i took a glass of coffee. That is base from my experience.
Good day.

Everybody is different. Perhaps some people often drink coffee, so the coffee won't work so much for them and therefore they won't have sleeping problems even if they drink coffee at night. Since coffee is not my main drink and I hardly drink it, so I am afraid to drink it at night because I may be sleepless.

drinking coffee even if it's already late at night doesn't have any effect on me. it doesn't make me awake. but one thing for sure, i need my daily dose of coffee because if i missed drinking it for 2 days, i feel dizzy.

Hiya aira,
My Husband can drink Coffee late at night even in the early hours of the morning and it will not affect his sleeping pattern. He just goes straight off to sleep. So he is lucky I reckon. It would be a different story for me though it certainly would take me more time to get off to sleep at least an hour or more before I would be able to settle down.

I don't drink coffee at all. I don't want to taste its bitterness that makes me puke. I do believe that coffee makes us awake whenever we feel sleepy. some of my classmates keep on drinking coffee whenever they feel dizzy. My classmate told me that he is addicted to coffee. so he drinks a lot. sometimes he can't sleep at night because of coffee and because of that he has got an insomia.

if it is just a half teaspoon of coffee i prepare, it doesn't wake me up. but i tried 1 tablespoon, i stayed all up the next night. weird effect. and the next day after that, i got palpitations. lol. i say t'was an experiment. sort of, as i have seen my friend as well doing that kind of preparation of tablespoonful of coffee in a cup of hot water. she never put sugar even.

I think it is on the mind set of an individual. My husband also likes to have a cup of coffee before bedtime. Before, I believed that caffeine will keep us awake the entire night, but for him it is the opposite. He got a very good sleep each time he took a cup and anything to match say biscuit or a slice of bread.

Cafiene is said to be a substance that keeps you awake, or at least temporarily. I have however never encountered sleeping difficulty after drinking coffee and, I must add, it is my favorite drink, thus I drink cofffe basically 24/7. I must add though that when I'm working or driving and start to feel drowsy I do take a cup of coffee and definately feel more awake afterwards. So I suppose that there must be some truth to people stating that they can't sleep or have sleeping difficulty after drinking coffee.
