Good day to all, I am wondering sometimes, why some people used to have so many mobile phones in their possession. Like the one I met this morning, she already has her nokia phone, but, due to the trend, she bought a blackberry phone. Thinking, maybe she has a lot of money to buy. Aside from that, I also saw a guy whose holding two mobile phones in his palm and one of that is also blackberry. For this reason, I am sometimes convinced that having a blackberry or having a two mobile phones now a days are considered as a "Status Symbol". Wherein, if the people are possessing two mobile phones, it means they are belong to the elite group? How about you, do you also think it this way - that Mobile Phones are somehow symbolizes status of the people? That they are belong to the Elite Group if they possess two mobile phones. Or maybe, they just have a lot of money to buy.

I guess it depends on a person but I don't think it has anything to do with status at all. Some people just want to keep things seperate. Few of my co-workers have cell phone from work, that work pays for, then their private, personal phone. They usually turn the "work cell phone" off on the days they're off from work. I personally have just one phone, blackberry 9700, but I do use it for both work related & personal reasons. I have blackberry for convinience reasons than anything else. I don't think having a lot of money have nothing to do with having 2 phones. Like I mentioned earlier, work might be paying for one phone while person only has to pay for personal one.

In some ways it is. Today a cellphone don't just function as a communication tool but to make a fashion statement as well. More often, people judge your disposition based on the handset you carry. Some even flaunt it. There are others who would show their high end phones so others will drool over it. It's a fact that very few of those who own a smart phone make use of all its feature because more often than not they just use it to call and text, some even don't have cellphone load at all.

Wow!If having 2 celphones are considered being an elite then how I will categorized myself where I owned 4 mobile phones at a time.?lol.But I dont have blackberry.I dont think owning a multiple mobile phones is a basis to determine the financial status of people.Nowadays buying mobile phones is like buying clothes.Unlike during my college days where celphones are much expensive.Well I would say that during early years of mobile phone to possess one is a proof of you being financially privileged. But this time there are lot of mobile stores that offers installment term that even students are now capable to acquire.

I don't think one becomes part of the "elite" if he has 2 mobile phones. I have 2 mobile phones just because I needed them at one point. I subscribe to 2 different telecom companies. One of them is good for texting my family abroad (because it has better and cheaper roaming service) and the other is for my local use (because most of my friends are subscribers of that network...I use unlimited text for same-network texting). One is prepaid and the other is postpaid. I keep both numbers because most of my friends only have either one of my numbers. And I want to keep both my sims active. They are pretty old phone models, mind you. Both early 2000's models. I don't plan to buy a blackberry or an iphone or any of those smart phones. I'm pretty content with what I have. But I do agree that having 2 phones will show that you can afford to maintain those 2 phones. So maybe people buy phones because they want to be very accessible. Sometimes they need it in their jobs. Sometimes it's just so that they can get the most out of the telecom companies. I mean, some networks are better at international services, some are better with internet connection, and sometimes you need to go to a place where only one network has a reliable signal. So we end up buying different sim cards. But then sometimes we need 2 (or more) of those sim cards active at the same time. So, logical thing to do is either buy dual sim phonesor buy multiple phones.

People up grade phones all the time, all mobil are different,To say people belong to a elite group, because they have two phones is silly. Why because they might have just bought a phone but they use there old phone because they are more familar with its fuctions & they might still have all there data on there old phone as well. And there are people that keep there bussiness mobil seprate from there private mobil, theres many reson to have two mobil phones.

I only have one active cellphone, as I don't need more than one. Now there are some that have more than one because they probably have different carriers and different numbers, so they want to keep their personal numbers separate from the business numbers. I think some get their business phone from their boss for their job, whereas they bought themselves one for their personal lifer. I think that if I would see someone with more than one phone, I would just think that they probably need both of them. Now, my son has his own business and he only has one cellphone, as he has a landline that is used for his personal life, so in thatq situation, he only needs one,and I do think he does use it sometimes for his personal life as well, as it has a lot of features on it, and some he uses for his business and and some for his personal life. I don't have a business, so I only need one, as that is all I can handle at one time anyway. Take care, and have a very good day.
