High pressured sales representatives are still alive and kicking
Today I got up and did my usually daily activities, and then I remembered that I had this new site membership I had to cancel because I no longer needed the services, and I didnt want to be charged agin, so of course I dialed the toll free number that was available and spoke to a kind representative, I guess she thought that if she was extra nice she could convince me to keep the services. she kept quoting differnt prices and saying how much of a great value I would get if I stay with there services it started getting annoying she insisted very kindly that I would benefit more by remaining a member.
I told her very kindly coz I'm always kind, that I no longer wanted to be a member but the phone rep just kept on talking, and by the 3red time that I said cancel she finally gave in I felt like telling her that she was wasting her time trying to convince me but I didnt of course coz that would have been a bit rude of me, but my goodness sometimes I dread canceling services because of that sort of high pressured representatives, I wish that service representatives would just cancel after you say it the first time instead of wasting your time and there's.
Do you sometimes dread canceling services because of this sort of thing?

I am so glad that in Indonesia, telemarketing is not that popular. And since I don't have landline phone I don't have to deal with it a lot. But these salesperson on the mall I had to deal with. Their hard selling technique was cheap and rude. They stop us on our way and talk non-stop and I had to yell at a salesperson once because he tried to grab my hand so he could drag me to his shop.
Argh!

Well your lucky or should I say blessed that you dont have to deal with annoying pushy sales reps like in other places in the world, but it looks like you've had a few experience's with sales reps in your life and no matter how few those experiences are still just as annoying.
Thanks a lot for stopping in.

Hi apples99
I had a simular problem recently too! About 8 months ago I changed my ISP and phoned around several companies to get the cheapest rates going. I nearly went with a certain company as they quoted me a certain amount on the phone but when the paperwork came through it was almost twice what I had been quoted so I rang and cancelled it because they wouldn't match their original quote. So anyway just last week I recieved a call from them asking why I had decided not to go with them, just as they had called me a month after I cancelled it and told them the same thing. Then the rep just went on and on and on trying to tell me of their new rates but I said I wouldn't be looking to change before my contract ran out and they could call back in several months time. I am expecting a follow call from them next month!!

Hiya apples,
Yes I do dislike that a lot. But most times they usually add on a month or two of payments that you will have to make before they cancel you altogether. Trickery but that is the only way you get rid of them. It does not say that in their Contract in big letters it´s in the small letters at the bottom if you want to cancel before time you may have to pay extra months.
That is the way they consider it they don´t bother pestering you. You either cancel paying the extra months or nothing.
There are very few places that let you cancel right away here.
If they do cancel your contract they will pester the life out of you like you say even though you have paid everything.
We have had to pay more than once about 2 months extra payment just to be able to cancel a Service also not fair but there it is that is what they don´t tell you from the start. Now we are once bitten twice shy.

Yes, indeed, because a lot of customer service people are morons quite frankly. They seem to not understand the most simple things. You would be better off talking to a wall a lot of the time. They try and keep your hooks into them. If you're lucky, you might be able to get someone competent the first time. However, a lot of the time, they will continue to argue with you.
I just wonder how many people stay on just out of frustration of having to deal with these people. It makes me dread talking to these people. They just won't listen a lot of the time. I try and be polite every time that I talk to these people. However, they really test my patience a lot of the time. They just make me want to bang my head into a solid wall. So yes, I dread having to deal with these people.
