A friend of mine told me, that a friend of his actually bought a car from craigslist, those private seller. On the description, it seems everything is in perfect condition, and the price is right. When his friend drive the car home, the car just won't make it to his home and broke down. What a shame, and he was so ripped - off from this seller.
Well, according to the law, those used car can sold as it is, and there is no argument about it, unless the used car still carry the warranty with it. The seller or the dealer salesperson can lie anything about the used car. So, rule of thumb, always bring a trustworthy mechanic of your choice when you ready to buy a used car. Have the mechanic thoroughly check the car then fork over the money.

Buying a care most especially for the second hand ones is not an easy thing. If you do not have much knowledge on this things, it is really important to bring someone who is knowledgeable on it. The car might appear great physically but you have to consider that all that glitter is gold. The engine could be in bad shape already.

Just a tip I have noticed when a buyer was inspecting a used car. He tried knocking and listening to the sound the knocking makes in the areas of the fender, hood and bumper. He said you can tell through this if the car has been fixed/repainted many times. The repainted one makes a dull sound.
